Oh? WHAT is it you imagine this "prime directive" is?

It most certainly isn't acting like a petulant little spoiled brat which is what Trump is doing.

Oh, he's going to end it alright. He'll declare a national emergency, when the real national emergency is sitting in the WH.

And then he will say he saved the country and saved the day and saved all the workers he threw into crisis.

Because that is what Trump does. He uses an ax when a scalpel is more appropriate, and he starts fires, puts them out and then proclaims himself a hero. And the Americans gullible enough to believe it will, and the rest of the country will despise him even more.

He's also weakening the GOP in a large way. The Dems are much more united. He does not have a clue how to govern. This ridiculous experiment of having a failed corrupt business person as 'president' is a bust. I think Trump is totally capable of sparking a civil war.

He has "0" empathy for anyone and doesn't care about the danger this shutdown is causing.

Both sides should accept the 2.5 billion deal offered by Pence towards completing the 700 mile wall, reinforcing whats there, expanding the technology, adding agents on the ground and enforce the immigration system we have in place. Forget about the 2,000 mile wall, by more helicopters and drones to patrol.

And yet Trump is still a millionaire because he picked himself up by the bootstraps and moved on.

What attention and investigation was Trump trying to divert from before he was elected? He wanted border security and a wall back then. You make no sense at all!

"0" empathy? If wanting border security for Americans isn't empathy then I don't know what is.

He may just accept less than he was offered for the wall but I hope not because we'll just be back at square one again when the next budget is due to be signed. The border agents need a good physical barrier to help them and to protect them. They have stated as such but you know better than them? We tried high tech stuff years ago and it failed so it was scrapped.

Once again, there is no plan for a 2,000 mile long wall. READ MY LIPS!!!! Trump just wants the 700 mile long wall completed that congress approved of back in 2006 with both Schumer and Obama's signature on it! So sick of people coming into this forum that don't even have their facts straight.

Nothing encourages illegal immigration as much as the ability to become employed.

Unless/ until the US takes Federal action to eliminate the incentive, illegal immigrants from all over the world will come.

Only a handful of states require all employers to use eVerfy. All have intentional loopholes, especially for independent contractors. Wink wink.

Come on now. What’s up with Texas and Florida?

Former Florida Governor Rick Scott initially campaigned on the promise to make eVerify state law. Once elected, he did nothing. He ran for the Senate. Trump supported him. He won.

Long time former Texas Governor Rick Perry opposed eVerify and a wall. Nearly a quarter of a century in public office in Texas and he understood, too many in his state benefit from employment of undocumented labor. Trump appointed him to a Cabinet position.

Politicians and the medias that feed off them have been blamethrowing for 35 years. It is obvious to the most casual observer it has been an effective strategy to achieve the goal of continuing to kick the can.

Why has Trump chosen not to use his bully pulpit to push for National eVerify- no loopholes?

Not a day goes by now that Trump is not on the news screeching about the wall and blamethroughing at Democrats. He characterizes it as all Democrats wanting Open Borders. His base seems to buy into the silliness.

Trump has no plan. Heck, no plan for what, where, when or how much. Is it concrete as Trump often champions or something else? How high? How much private land must be seized and at what cost, given appeals?

How many $ billions will it cost, all in? Where is the plan?

There remains unresolved cases of Eminent Domain associated with the Bush Wall. There are gaps in that portion of the wall to accommodate those with political connections.

Where is the @#$&* Plan?

My proposal is for the Democrats to offer a very small % of money, far below the $5 Billion, towards the wall in exchange for these terms:

-Govt open ASAP

-No further wall-related talks for the next 6 years, Fed funding wall issue closed

This should be the only pre-reopening of Govt offer

For any better offer, Govt open before talks begin is the only way.

Dems need to set option 1 as the only table offer take it or leave it.

But if Trump opens Govt without taking the reduced money offer, Dems should then set a precedent by agreeing to closer to the $5 billion for the wall, but only after Govt is opened. Or get much less for it and closed issue, Trump take your pick.

Personal liberty, or the Right to enjoyment of life and liberty, is one of the fundamental or natural Rights, which has been protected by its inclusion as a guarantee in the various constitutions, which is not derived from, or dependent on, the U.S. Constitution, which may not be submitted to a vote and may not depend on the outcome of an election. It is one of the most sacred and valuable Rights, as sacred as the Right to private property...and is regarded as inalienable."

What I do say is that no man is good enough to govern another man without that other's consent. I say this is the leading principle, the sheet-anchor of American republicanism. Our Declaration of Independence says: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: That all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.

Only Democrat Communism, deny these powerful words in history. Words that define the preservation of the individual, over the collective.

The dems have previously stated that we needed a wall, and allocated billions for border security. Its only because they hate trump, that they refuse to do so now.
Electronic surveillance only lets you know when someone has already crossed into the country. It doesnt stop them from getting in.

None of this mattered, until the power was transferred to the federal government, over the power of the people, with the 16th Amendment.
The 16th Amendment is the entire cause of ALL the problems WE THE PEOPLE face today.
You are property of the federal government and have not been free, since 1913.

What is a Corporatist?

Does that include the tens of thousands of households that employ undocumented labor to clean their homes, mow their grass, plow their snow, mind their children?

Does that include the tens of thousands of households who hire small business roofers, remodelers and so on who employ undocumented people?

Does that include the thousands of residential home builders who rely on contractors who hire undocumented labor?

Does that include farms who recruit and hire undocumented people because they are cheaper than unlimited legal seasonal agriculture workers?

Does that include businesses and municipalities and school districts who contract out for overnight cleaning services from small businesses who employ undocumented people?

Does that include the thousands of restaurants that employ undocumented people in the kitchen?
