With Trump's many bizarre comments directed to kissing Putin's ring, the FBI and other intelligence agencies would be remiss if they didn't investigate what Trump was up to. I'm sure their results are in Mueller's hand. This was not some rogue deep state FBI running amok. It was serious and subject to DOJ and the AG's approval. The FBI is closely scrutinized by Congress oversight committees (Republican held when the investigation was opened), senate oversight committees, and the results of their investigations are scrutinized by AG'S and judges in our court systems. The intelligence that is conducted is overseen by The Director of National Intelligence. (Daniel Coats. March 16th 2017 a Trump appointee.) Clapper was Obama's appointee. So you see the investigation started under Coates after Trump fired Comey.

Trump's connections to Russia are long and complex. We must know if he is compromised by a geopolitical adversary. That is the bottom line.

It's worth the read into what the FBI suspected once Individual 1 fired Comey.

F.B.I. Opened Inquiry Into Whether Trump Was Secretly Working on Behalf of Russia

In the days after President Trump fired James B. Comey as F.B.I. director, law enforcement officials became so concerned by the president’s behavior that they began investigating whether he had been working on behalf of Russia against American interests, according to former law enforcement officials and others familiar with the investigation.

The inquiry carried explosive implications. Counterintelligence investigators had to consider whether the president’s own actions constituted a possible threat to national security. Agents also sought to determine whether Mr. Trump was knowingly working for Russia or had unwittingly fallen under Moscow’s influence.

The investigation of the F.B.I. opened into Mr. Trump also had a criminal aspect, which has long been publicly known: whether his firing of Mr. Comey constituted obstruction of justice.

Therefore, anyone the FBI watches is a danger to the country.

And then there was the usual nonsense about "Individual 1..."so concerned"... Presiden's behavior"... "behalf of Russia" .... "explosive implications"..... "criminal aspect"...

The only thing missing from your nonsense is "orange'...."liar"...."moron" .... and "golf"
Fail.

Either that or the truth is so shocking that they are trying to figure out how to deal with it.

Trump sets himself up for this sort of thing with his erratic behavior and constant lies. Nobody knows what is the truth when he says something. And his attitude towards and around the Russians has been very unusual if not downright suspicious.

The FBI has to look into this, they would be derelict if they didn't. Trump is not the sharpest knife in the drawer and he could be a Russian dupe and not even know it.

No other POTUS in American history has ever been investigated this extensively.

What a trash human being Trump is.

The only ones that are guilty of collusion are the Dems and their puppet media. We are told that Russia was trying to disrupt our election process by causing confusion and casting doubt so we would attack each other from within.

The Dems and their media have been trying to take down Trump since day one and now we are experiencing the Gov. shutdown over something that everyone knows we need but the Dems are being petty and blocking it.

Putin must be very happy.
Here's a fact check for you. Dan Coats was appointed by Trump to be the director of National Intelligence in March of 2017. The Director of Intelligence oversees the intelligence branch of the FBI. The Trump Russia intelligence operation was sparked by Comey's firing, and thus approved by Coats. It has nothing to do with the media and everything to do with some serious allegations that can not be brushed under the rug.

As per the Government shutdown. The house is doing what we the people elected them to do. Make legislation. They have passed a bipartisan bill that had senate support before Christmas, and was supposed to be signed by Trump until Limbaugh and Colter talked him out of signing. McConnell will not bring the bipartisan bill passed by the house to a vote because he knows it will pass, Trump will veto it, and it will be over ridden. That is how our democracy is supposed to work. McConnell and Trump own this shut down.

Given all of these ties to Russia we as a country need to know if our president is compromised so I say kudos to Coats.

I will always support the Constitution over NATO.
I actually agree with that. But motive-wise it’s actually more believable that Trump is backing out at Russia’s request rather than out of some Libertarian concern. Can you cite many other instances of where he is trying to reign in executive power and be a strict Constitutionalist?

No wonder nothing is ever accomplished in Washington! There are so many investigations that are costing $$$$ that no one really cares about the American people.
