Believing is for religious people who don't need physical proof. We KNOW climate change is happening because we have physical proof, from the countless amount of scientific research and evidence out there, that is pouring in everyday.

Accepting that climate change happens is one thing.

But believing in some impending doomsday as a result of climate change is quite another thing.

I acknowledge that humans have had an impact on climate. I stop short of agreeing with those who see doom in every warm day, cold, day, snowy day, or dry day.

I've been following some NASA info on the Earth's poles shifting, too. I first heard about it but some Inuit Indian reports. Very interesting.

I read old journals, kept by people who lived long ago. Even then they describe open winters ( little snow), dark wet summers, and the opposites of both.

Yes, I want us to take care of the earth. But, some of the loudest people have the goofiest, non-effective solutions. It's like they've stepped outside for the first time and suddenly think they understand it all.

The Earth's climate has been changing since the Earth was first formed, and will continue to change until it is ultimately destroyed.

The only people who even come close to denying that the Earth's climate is naturally in a state of constant change are the AGW alarmists, who appear to believe that a static climate is somehow normal, achievable and sustainable.

It isn’t.

Depends on where you live.

There will very likely be negative effects on certain places, particularly to more vulnerable nations, such as island countries.

Overall, the world will go on, but that doesn't mean there won't be significant effects in certain places.

I haven't seen anyone deny that the Earth's climate has changed through its history. Care to point this out?

And what scientific evidence and research do you have that shows this to be true? That is, evidence to show current warming has nothing to do with man-made emissions?

There is almost hysterical alarm at the realization that the Earth's climate is changing by the largely politically motivated proponents of the left's AGW alarmism agenda.

So, is not the goal to restrict that from happening somehow? Even though it literally always has and literally always will, regardless of what humans attempt to do to stop it?

The alarm is due to clear indications that we're directly responsible for the current change. This rate of change is unheard of in Earth's history, with exceptions like cataclysmic volcano or asteroid events. Do you have evidence to link our current change to natural events?

And just because Earth has changed, that doesn't mean Humans will fare well through that change. The planet will be fine - but what of human civilization?

I happen to think we'll (humans) make it through with smart technologies and innovations, but not without paying significant costs along the way (both to the planet and its species, and to human civilizations).

It is impossible to create experimental conditions that can actually model Earth's climate. We can ascertain the extent of CO2's radiative forcing. We cannot ascertain the sum of positive versus negative feedback mechanisms that exist as a result of increased temperature or CO2 concentrations. That's a leap of faith that you make, just as it's a leap of faith you apparently make to assume that something can arise from nothing.
