Every government Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, whatever will continue to send out bills for property taxes to pay for the infrastructure we all use. Even those who complain about paying for it.

If they wish to peddle their wares (Iphones) on the infrastructure paid for by society, yes they need to pay also. Is this something that is confusing to you?

Yep- this reinforces that skilled employees that most corporations re have a strong preference for progressive metro areas. Or they help turn other areas. This why their has to be a balance-a strong enough city/government to provide infrastructure and promote standard of living issues but also tries to encourage the type of businesses that compliment the community. They need the businesses to provide the jobs and tax $ for the costs associated with improvements. And those incentives should be treated as an investment not a gift. I really think the Long Island deal with Amazon fell in line with that.

And it was noticeable which cities/areas had traction with Amazon and which did not. Your point about them not moving to Montana is correct but if you look closer when these companies do move to someplace outside the northeast or West Coast they chose Denver, Austin, Raleigh, Nashville, Atlanta, and all the other cities that get branded communist pits by the right while they drive much of the growth in their states.

Very salient observations.

The experiment in democracy is now revealed to be a longitudinal study in feudalism.

Perhaps the United States of America should re-brand itself to something more palatable for the serfs? The Incorporated States of America, or something like that.

Do you live in NYC? If not then you should know that the proposed location was served by SEVEN subways lines, the N, W, R, 7, E, G, and M trains. Not only that, but because it was in Queens most of the Amazon employees who didn't live within walking distance would take a reverse commute from Manhattan where the trains are empty in the morning outbound and empty the evening inbound.

The people who live near the HQ are already prosperous, and low income residents who couldn't handle the rent already moved in recent years, except for the thousands in the Queensview housing projects next door which have a fixed dirt cheap rent and were going to get a computer training center free of charge from Amazon as well as a promise to hire dozens of people for low entry skill jobs with on the job training

If the government were accepting applications for people to endless kiss their ring, does anyone have any doubt that this guy would apply?

I live in the Seattle metro area and was born and raised inside Seattle's city limits when Seattle was for the average working man and woman. Now, Seattle has allowed itself to be controlled by the Uber-Far-Left crazies like Kshame Sawant, a multi millionaire and devout Socialist (Go figure!!), who is "OUR" very own AOC.

Sawant is basically the main reason why Amazon is now holding back on further expansion within Seattle's city's limits. And her last stunt blew up in her face when most of her looney supporters realized that she put their jobs in jeopardy... If Amazon should further scale back operations in Seattle and/or move completely out of the State of Washington.

The one thing that the Far-Left and Socialist do not seem to understand is that corporations and the rich have the means to move to areas that are more friendly to their operations.
