Uh literally no one is saying that... Getting rid of the EC or modifying it is updating the constitution.

We are a Union of Independent States. That's the way we were formed and the way our founders intended us to stay.

Dissolve the EC you might as well dissolve the boundaries and the governments of each state.
I think I read that 6 of the Democrat Presidential Primary candidates have embraced this "Abolish the Electoral College" ...... it will be interesting to see how that actually flies in their first Primaries in New Hampshire and Iowa. That's 2 States that would be thrown under the Leftist Bus.

This is a straw man logical fallacy its not that every vote does not count its some votes count more than others. Every vote should be equal.

Most who support the popular vote to elect our presidents are the "highly educated" left who think we are a democracy!

And they call US UN-educated!

Just goes to show how useless a lot of those "degrees" are.

I first seriously thought about the EC in high school in the late '60s and thought it was antiquated and silly even then, had nothing to do with any election results. IF we must keep this antiquated system let's make states award electoral votes proportionally according to the popular vote.
" WHY shouldn't every voter's vote count?"

Do your OWN research. to find out WHY our Founding Fathers did NOT choose that option.

" WHY shouldn't every voter's vote count?"

How do states that have "winner take all", count every vote?

In Ca over 39% did NOT vote for hillary and she got ALL electoral votes. Why should those that did not vote for her NOT count?

" IF we must keep this antiquated system let's make states award electoral votes proportionally according to the popular vote."

I agree 100%

If ALL states used the proportional method it would be more fair across the board.

IF we used ONLY the popular the people from urban areas would elect our president EVERY TIME because that is where most people are and the less urban areas would NEVER get a president elected.

IF we ONLY used the popular vote 2/3ds of the country wouldn't even bother to vote because the SAME 3 or 4 state WOULD determine who won EVERY TIME.

We are NOT a democracy for a reason.

Give me a break.

Liberals don't like the 1st amendment.

They don't like the 2nd amendment.

They don't like the Electoral College.

Tell me......

Just what part of the Constitution do they want to keep?

(Other than the General Welfare clause, of course)
