Will say those in Arlington are pretty much different than those in San Francisco. Arlington County would not put up with a fraction of the BS those in San Francisco do.

That presumes San Francisco sees "that stuff" as BS in the first place. No guarantee even of that.
1) Berkeley, CA
2) San Francisco, CA
3) Oakland, CA
4) Arlington, VA
5) Pasadena, CA
6) Boulder, CO
7) Sunnyvale, CA
8) Durham, NC
9) Alexandria, VA
10) Bellevue, WA
I wanted to ask as general question: Hypothetically, without using politics, if you were given a job offer in one of the cities above? Could you put politics aside to relocate to San Francisco? Keeping in mind costs of living, quality of life, real estate values, demographics, etc.
What about one of the most conservative cities?
1) Lafayette, LA
2) Tyler, TX
3) The Woodlands, TX
4) Knoxville, TN
5) Frisco, TX
6) Carrollton, TX
7) Murfreesboro, TN
8) Chattanooga, TN
9) Scottsdale, AZ
10) Huntsville, AL
Where would you rather live politics aside?
For me using these two lists I'd pick
1) Scotsdale, AZ
2) Boulder, CO
3) The Woodlands, TX
Interesting lists.
I've been to 9 of the 10 on each (missing Durham and Huntsville).
I'm a Bay Area native who has lived most of my life in affluent Bay Area suburbs, so I've spent a great deal of time in the three most liberal cities on the list....Berkeley, San Francisco, and Oakland.
I spent a couple of months in Tyler, TX a few years ago, and my house is in The Woodlands, TX....both on the conservative list.
If I moved to any other part of the South, it would probably be to Chattanooga, TN (on the conservative list), or to Pinellas or Hillsborough County in the Tampa Bay area.
If I moved to Arizona, it would probably be to Scottsdale (my family has been going to resorts there as far back as the 1930s)...on the conservtive list.
I'm neither a Republican nor a Democrat, and I didn't vote for Hillary and also didn't vote for Trump.
I'm not particularly fond of Lafayette, LA.....but I've enjoyed the time I've spent in (and in one case living in) the other seventeen on the lists that I've been to.
I have to question the list. I'm very familiar with Bellevue, WA, and it should not be on the list. It is more liberal than 20 years ago, when the US House member was fairly far-right Jennifer Dunn. But it is still not top 10 'most liberal.' Bellevue to a great extent is the creation of a guy named Kemper Freeman, who is solidly conservative.
Seattle should be on the list. The city council is divided not among Republican and Democrat. The divide instead is between liberals and full-fledged socialists. One city council woman has described herself as a 'Marxist.'
Some cities are surprising to me that they didn't make the list. Austin, TX for one, Portland, OR and Seattle, WA too. But the list was based off of some very specific criteria which may have eliminated those cities.

This is true. I have lived in Arlington and Alexandria and both cities (technically Arlington is a county) are clean, safe, and well managed. No homeless bums squatting on the sidewalk. Illegal immigrants are a non-issue. Very little crime. These might be fairly liberal towns but the residents are common sense folks and keep the politicians in check. No nutty left wing looniness.
The Woodlands is full of snobs who think their s___ doesn't stink. I live not far from there. The Woodlands Costco has the rudest, most obnoxious people I have ever met in my life. Do you shop there, Texas?
The quality of life is much better in liberal cities.
not true. it depends on what you value. to me, cities are very overcrowded. the quality of life for me would be terrible.
