Where in the hell do you live that every time you leave you might be beaten to death?????
That's exactly what I was thinking. Come on, I live in a small, conservative town and no one here has ever or would even think of harming someone because of their sexual preference, much less beating them to death. Hubby and I were in a local restaurant a few days ago and there was a lesbian couple a few tables over. One of them was extremely butch, with a crew cut, camouflage clothing, and combat boots, and no one blinked an eye, so how is every gay person in America, especially since most are not even identifiable as gay by their appearance, at risk of being beaten to death every time they leave their house?
According to the 2015 U.S. Transgender Survey (USTS) from the National Center for Transgender Equality (for which I’m the spokesperson), 1 in 10 transgender people was physically attacked in the past year, and half of all transgender people are survivors of sexual violence.
Getting back to the topic, let's not forget that this is Canada, so this idiocy should come as no surprise. In addition, someone criticizing the activist judge stated that the charge violated the father's freedom of speech. Well, there's none of that in Canada, either.
I don't need biased BS to tell me that some made up nonsense, like 1/12 crossdressers get beaten to death everytime the are in public, is an unbelievably exaggerated statistic.

Oh no, the passive-aggressive and condescending "uh".
It's not the topic, but it's a side discussion and people should know something before stating something is only a problem in one's imagination.
Carry on - it's not like the thread was hijacked.
