Abortion deeply divides Americans. The topic can hardly be raised, without eliciting emotional responses against and for. Since Roe v. Wade, a 1973 Supreme Court decision barring states from restricting abortion, the issue has become overtly political. Now, something new is afoot. The issue seems headed for the Supreme Court – again....
It's so funny how many liberals say a woman shouldn't be forced to provide for another life, but they seem to love the idea of others being forced to provide for others.
The argument here, by some, is " you can starve if you choose."
Less than 1% of all abortions are performed to save the life of the mother.

Abortion deeply divides America because both sides of the aisle (and religious groups) use it as a wedge issue to motivate their bases to support them monetarily and at the polls. If this was actually a contentious issue, other similarly-situated first world nations would be struggling with it as well.
and whats that have to do with abortion? I am curious how many of those deaths are not people from coming here illegally and did not get proper care before.
