This sort of thing scares the Chinese government out of their wits. They can't put military control on it the way they can on the mainland. Hong Kong isn't Bejing. And the numbers coming out are quite significant. The Chinese government does not like not being able to just crush dissent under tank treads.
Agree and interesting this is happening at the anniversary time of Tiananmen Square.
Joshua Wong, who was a leader of a protest movement in Hong Kong when he was 17 years old, will apparently be released early from prison tomorrow.
Of course the communists are the source of the concept of "Political correctness," and just like Democrat left here in this country, they will accept no dissent, unless it is just so overwhelming that they cannot stop it.
Of course here in this country, we increasingly see people who voice protests and contradictory thinking censored off of large social media websites, physically attacked on university campuses, in restaurants and elsewhere. This kind of behavior is just straight up evil, as are the people who perpetrate it.
Is this what we really want our society to be like here in this country? I certainly do not. And I hope you do not either.
It just shocks me that so many democrats can’t see the disturbing direction their party is moving in.
They cover it up with COOL memes and “woke” narratives and messaging.....
Yes, they want the Democrat party wants to be 100% in control of the US, just like China
Sadly, they almost are.
They control our education system from top to bottom.
They control most of the media, the entertainment industry, all the main social media, recently our sports, and most of our culture.
That’s how they’ve indoctrinated the youth to believe all the crap that they do.....

Still, a lot of them will snap out of it when reality kicks in.
They already do in some areas of gang infested cities along with Latino gangs. That's why law abiding people of ALL races want the choice to arm themselves. Loony Leftists can't seem to grasp the concept that criminals don't obey laws which is why they are criminals.
Oh they grasp it all right--but they are in cahoots with the gangs. The Demunist Commiecrats want us disarmed and at the mercy of their pet criminal gangs.
I find it interesting that the Chinese protesters are young, Christian, capitalists. They have seen how socialism and communism doesn't work. It will be another Tienanmen Square situation. Our Loony Left, atheist soyboys haven't a clue and they don't have the courage the Chinese have.

Hong Kong has a very different history, and was a British trading post until 1997.
Under British rule, Hong Kong expanded economically and was allowed to run it's own affairs, whilst the police were well respected and based on the British model of policing.
It's quite sad to see the Chinese imposing draconian laws and rules, and the protestors even unveiled the former British flag of Hong Kong in the parliament.
Its too bad the OP insists on turning interesting news story into partisan BS.
Hong Kong was a British colony until 1997, when they returned it back to China. Until recently China allowed Hong Kong pretty much govern themselves, but it seems they are now trying to enforce an extradition bill, which would allow people to be sent to mainland China for trial.
The protesters are destroying property, much like the antifa sometimes does, and curiously the right wingers in US celebrate it in Hong Kong, while condemning it in US.
Can someone tell me specifically what these protests are about?
Just clicked on several news articles about them and apparently actual information is no longer allowed in news articles. Thanks.
It is about an extradition bill, which would allow people to be sent to mainland China for trial
