It is an "Opinion piece" in the NY Times from one author. People are allowed to voice their opinions even if they are incredibly stupid. If Sean Hannity can spew nonsense on a nightly basis, no reason to get upset over one very misguided opinion piece in the NY Times.
Unless the result is "outing" law enforcement officials.

Imagine if Hannity started showing viewers pictures of planned parenthood workers and had a nightly call-in on his show asking people to identify them if they know them from school, neighbors etc. so that he can release their names and addresses so people can communicate their disgust over what they do.
That would be vile and a MAJOR step worse than just spewing his normal garbage.
I'd suggest very strongly not to just wave off this persons suggestion as one loon it most certainly gets weight because they decided to carry it in their paper.

This is the danger in what the irresponsible NY Times did.
