Do doctors even endorse this? Childrens doctors? I seriously doubt it, not real doctors anyway. I have 2 gks in my life, both 7 years old and they sure are not questioning their sexuality yet. Girls are icky and boys suck and are meanies is what's going on. Just the normal stuff it seems.
I think adults with some dubious motives and some stupid parents are involved in this whole thing. I'm seeing more of it and this instance seems to be coming more common in our lives. Too many thought process people following the herd.
Yeah, it's RT. Sophie does come up with some interesting topics though.
There are serious practical benefits to starting hormone therapy prior to puberty if someone’s goal is too transition to the other gender. So I do get that.
At the same time I agree with your point, 7 seems too young and most people are def not aware of their sexuality at that point at least if the parents have done a decent job.
I could see such a conversation happening at maybe 11 or 12 though.

It’s mental illness. Kids are too young to have this mental illness thrown onto them.

Anti-gay intolerance is a mental deficiency and kids are too young to have it thrown onto them. I know because I was one and it took me years to get past the emotional abuse my parents inflicted on me.

I agree with this. Personally I'm uncomfortable with the idea but I get the merit behind it. The reason I'm uncomfortable is because gender identity, especially before puberty, can be pretty fluid. Most boys conform to stereotypically masculine norms but some don't and not all who don't end up transgender. In fact I'd say most end up cisgender (though many may end up gay). I think more research needs to be done into the difference between the brain chemistry of transgender individuals and cisgender individuals. As far as I know, transgender individuals naturally reject and accept the opposite hormones compared to their physical sex.
It would be nice though if a discussion on this topic could be had without it turning into a right-wing slingfest of disgust and hate.

I know I've all but lost my chance at ever having a normal life thanks to growing up in a heavily conservative, religious community and the homophobia I've faced my entire life.

Screwing with kids heads over what is clearly mental illness is child abuse.

I have a friend who raises her son as a daughter, basically, dressing him up as a girl because this boy wanted to be a girl. My friend and her husband took this boy to a specialist (therapist) and I don't really know much details to share their story. Only thing I know is that the boy cannot receive the transgender therapy. He's only 8 years old.
I thought Actual hormone replacement therapy normally isn't started until 16, but at 12 the kid should either be on puberty blockers already or starting them soon.
That is pretty much all I know about this subject. My personal feeling about this is that seven years old is way too young to start a hormone therapy. The therapy will probably mess up their health. Very sad.
