These wages will just be passed on to the low income people who shop at these stores. SNAP $$ will cover fewer groceries, day care costs will go up for the poor... anything made by the worker will be used up by inflation.
The one who benefits the most is the Fed Govt who will collect more SS and FICA taxes.
If Dems were serious they would stop the flood of 3rd world, illiterate, homeless workers.
They may be some cost passed on but from what I've read a lot of the businesses will just keep their payroll level by employing fewer workers.
So, if you are one of the better low-wage workers then it's a definite win if you move up from $11 to $15/hr.
However if you aren't then you may have trouble finding a job at all.
P.S. Employers will also have more incentive to hire illegals off the books at lower wages.
The fact that they are still arguing with us is because they believe minimum wage is the right thing to do. Having adopted that belief, they are looking for anything to justify their belief. No amount of argument against their justification will change their mind. People knowingly do stupid and evil things all the time, because they feel it’s for a good cause.
The only way to do that is to challenge their evil belief.
His argument that it isnt a cost of living expense is literally asinine as his own party complains about high rent costs and high home prices afflicting big cities and squeezing the bottom and middle of Americans that live there.

With this bill though tipped workers become hourly getting the same $15/hour.
Going from $2.13 to $15.00 will be a big hit to all restaurants that employ tipped workers.
IF such an increase in the MW will be THAT disastrous for these restaurants, maybe they didnt have practical business models to begin with?
Besides that, Id want to see their annual P&L history first, just to see if a MW increase would truly impact them as much as they claim.

Interest rates have been held artificially low for a very long time. We are discussing lowering them again. We lower them to increase profits for the well off while harming those who had planned on being able to afford their groceries on their savings.
If this is a good idea, why don't we simply make negative interest rates for everyone?
