I was one time threatened with arrest by a hospital security guard when the PIO for the local police told us to meet him on hospital grounds for an interview for something that happened there an hour before. The PIO had not cleared it with the hospital for any of us to be there.
This is not to absolve the security guard for what he did, just to explain things better. These security guards sometimes think they have way more authority than they really have. (After my time in TV news, I then worked in security some)
Silly question: Can Paul Blart actually arrest you?
CNN is relevant nationally (unfortunately) - and Ryan is a CNN personality.
The point of hypocrisy to point out is that they use the freedom of the press argument when it works for them, and they toss aside the freedom of press argument when it works for them.
Conclusion - they really don't don't care about press freedom. They only want what works for them.
Ryan has other professional roles outside of CNN, no? Does CNN represent the majority of her professional work today?
You seem to be conflating Ryan as an individual with CNN as an organization. Has Ryan made "freedom of the press" a personal crusade? I have no idea.
It's obvious what your intent is here. If this was a Fox contributor you wouldn't be saying anything.
Just because Mark Levin shows up on Fox, is Fox responsible for anything and everything he might say and do? No.

On one post I worked on, we had the power to arrest people in the neighborhood we patrolled. I never did. We were always told to call the sheriff's department when we needed someone with actual authority.

Agreed. A lot of security guards think they are though. Some were denied the chance due to various reasons. I don't know anything about April Ryan's bodyguard, but it sounds lke he thought he had authority he did not have at the hotel.
[color="Navy"][i][indent]April Ryan, a top political analyst at CNN, is also embroiled in a potentially litigious situation after appearing to approve of her bodyguard removing a credentialed journalist from an event at which she was speaking.
So you all think that credentialed journalist should be allowed to cover the news and events, and should not be barred from events? You support freedom of the press in this context?
That is so interesting. I agree. Does that apply to the POTUS too? Should he be able to prevent credentialed journalist from covering his events? Asking for a friend...

Go back to post #6. He was invited by the organizers to cover the event.
Did the organizers of the event have the OK from the hotel to invite him?
Why are you defending their hypocrisy? The hotel did not put him out - Ryan's bodyguard put him out.
