Imagine having a doctor being blocked from providing medical options to a patient, this reminds me of behavior in some 3rd world countries with religious fanatics. I assume this funding cut will impact many low income women but I don't think the GOP really cares. Title X had bipartisan report and was initiated under Nixon and now 50 years later this administration welcomes its demise.

Why are some these groups cheering this as a victory, is it because they are denying service to poor women because it will not stop abortions.

Quote:
Planned Parenthood receives about $60 million annually through the federal program, known as Title X. The funds have enabled the group to provide more than 1.5 million low-income women each year with services like birth control and pregnancy tests, as well as screenings for sexually transmitted diseases and breast and cervical cancer. In some rural communities, Planned Parenthood is the only provider of such services.
In states like Utah, where Planned Parenthood is the only organization receiving Title X funds, and Minnesota, where Planned Parenthood serves 90 percent of the Title X patients, those seeking care may face long waits for appointments, the group said, while other patients may delay care or go without. Over all, Planned Parenthood gets more Title X money than any single group, and it serves 40 percent of all Title X patients.

The group’s decision to stop accepting the money was cheered by anti-abortion groups that have long sought to deprive Planned Parenthood of federal support. “It is a long-awaited victory that will energize the pro-life grass roots,” said Jeanne Mancini, president of the March for Life.

Just proves they were using the funds the government gave them to abort babies.

I'm fairly positive the US government will have no problems finding other organizations that are willing to take on the onerous task of accepting 60 million in funding to provide the same services.

PP is not the only place in USA to get rid of your unwanted Child.. Google has thousands of places in their search engine to show you. PP was using funds to do abortions in clever ways and laundering money back to Dems for campaigns.
NRA sends money back to Politicians too. Its how DC works..

Federal money is not supposed to be used for abortions.

No doctor is being blocked from performing medical options. You want an abortion at PP then show up with the money.

PP just proved they were using Fed money for abortions whether they realize it not.

You would be surprised how few physician students want to go into OB/GYN. Litigation and politics has reduced the number of providers significantly. If it were not for Mid-wives, nurse practitioners, and foreign-born physicians picking up the slack, much of the mid-west would be out of OB/GYN providers. Our current providers are starting to retire (usually retire a little earlier from full-time clinical work in medicine so that does not help either).

This 30 year war is having a big effect that has gone un-noticed by the general public.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised, my Mother was OB nurse. She had her own personal insurance as nurse that was pretty expensive. She was also involved with two cases as witness, she almost quit after the second one and the case had absolutely nothing to do with her personally. She was fortunate and was able to move into a position of nearly full time for the birthing classes.

That's not an issue particular to clinics, it's an issue with the justice system which has made the field undesirable.

I don’t see how you arrived at that conclusion as this is about the gag order for doctors, nothing else. They aren’t halting abortions just refusing funding so they can provide options to patients, what is the harm in providing patients more information.

On the contrary it seems you have removed the one thing that kept planned parent hood from offering abortion to everyone. I have no idea if they can keep the doors open.
