Hint: Is one more like to see a liberal or a conservative in a Whole Foods store?
Maybe Dems eat less meat?

Maybe, but meat isn't as unhealthy as is often advertised, so I'm not sure that's the reason.

Yes, of course conservatives think it's biased, because they find it hard to believe liberals are healthier. But indeed, it's true.

Is this hilarious? 'Typhus zone': Rats and trash infest Los Angeles' skid row, fueling disease

Those rats, experts say, are likely contributing to the growing number of typhus infections cropping up on skid row and other parts of the region. The disease is spread by fleas, which are carried by rats, opossums and pets.

"You have constant activity that serves as a breeding ground for rats," said Estela Lopez, executive director of the Central City East Association, a business improvement district that overlaps skid row.

You can laugh at this:

Los Angeles Public Health Hazard: How Did It Come to This?

Homeless camps with tents block miles of sidewalks. Trash is piled up along with human waste and drug needles, combined with all sorts of contraband – a clutter of junk, trash and various items you see when passing by. Places that were once for public passage are now off limits to people concerned about their safety. There’s been a recent wide-spread threat of diseases, some described by medical personnel as medieval. Diseases like Typhoid, Typhus, Measles, Scabies, MRSA and Tuberculosis are a few of the critical issues concerning doctors. Rats and other vermin spread disease among the population living in and visiting areas of neglect and decay.

Doctor Drew Pinsky, a familiar name in LA broadcasting, recently stated that Bubonic Plague, a pandemic that killed tens of millions of people in the 14th century is “likely” already present in Los Angeles; it is caused by bites from fleas infected by rats. Other lesser known diseases transmitted by insects can kill people in short time and are of concern to many. Dengue fever is spread by a mosquito bite. Ebola, Cholera, Enterovirus D68 and Chagas Disease (connected to the “Kissing Bug’’ bite) are all of concern to the medical community.

Hold it right there Egon Pearson, even if this laughable exercise in journalists playing with math is correct, you've not established the correlation between the voters in the state and their healthiness but rather are assuming that the R's and D's are all equally healthy in a state.

As mentioned, that's a tiny part of the overall state and population having a problem that makes for great ratings from newscasts.

The study is junk but if it wasn't, those types of events wouldn't be really meaningful to the statewide conversation.
