Hate to burst your bubble but normal people don't care about this. They care about how they are doing financially. The rest is just noise.

Normally that would be true but Trump is an outlier.
His scandals and incompetence have percolated much further down into everyday discussion among normal people who are not usually interested in politics.
That’s why people want him gone. They are tired of the joke this POTUS is and want a return to normal government where they don’t have to hear about such things on a daily basis.
She's clearly got problems right now, but I think the one who will win against Trump is Harris. Blacks may not love her just yet, but when given the choice of a black woman as president and a racist like Trump they will turn out in numbers like no one thought possible. Younger people will get behind her too. And she will be a firebrand in debate reducing Trump to a sniffling, confused hunk of jello. She has to survive IA, and SC, but after that things can open up for her as the others fall out.
Really? OTOH, "give head to get ahead" as a campaign slogan does have a certain ring to it.

I'm not a Bernie supporter but he was clear and likable last night. Biden, as usual, came across as the confused uncle and did nothing to secure my vote. Warren gave us nothing new but remained strong and held her own. I wish Harris would up her game a bit or we will see her fall to the wayside with Castro and Yang. All in all, I enjoyed the debate and feel pretty good about most of the candidates.

the democrats are moving toward democratic socialism and many americans seem to want a western European, democratic socialist government. It is a fact that the two most leftists candidates, bernie and warren, are in the top three dem presidential candidates per the polls.
what is ironic is just as many American voters are turning to democratic socialism, many voters in the EU countries are raging a furious battle with their politicians to reverse many of the problematic issues of democratic socialism: globalization, growing social welfare programs, slow economic growth, and unfettered immigration.
the negative result of democratic socialism governments are there for all americans to see if they only would. so many americans have an idealized view of what this kind of government reaps.
As a Democrat I more or less agree with you, as do most Democrats. We are still waiting for a more moderate candidate, one who truly represents the people. The Republicans are so far right that they're off the charts. The Democrats are too far left. ....waiting for someone moderate to come along, although Biden does get it.

I have to say, Beto trying to turn the El Paso trsgedy to his own political beenfit is a little, well..........not my favorite approach.
He speaks about it a lot because it affected him personally. He's from El Paso, and that was his congressional district, too. He has family & friends there. So he experienced the mass murder more personally than any of the other candidates. Anyone would relate their personal experience with mass murder by assault weapons in the discussion of mass murder by assault weapons.

The majority of middle class people have no interest in medical coverage for illegals, decriminalizing illegal border crossings. Getting rid of their medical coverage for some garbage that the government will provide. Most people realize that all of the free this and free that stuff has to get paid somehow, and most people realize that it will take more than just the uber wealthy to cover the bill. The Dims with their incessant America sucks and we're all racist bit isn't going to play well in the general. Part of why Trump won was he ran on basically a much more positive message, his dumb rhetoric at times aside.
