I just don’t understand it. As off-putting as Trump’s personality and behavior is sometimes, his personality is benign and his policies are STELLAR compared to these scary hate and fear mongering idiots.

I quite agree with your comment. Trump's egomania and thin skin have always been off-putting to me, even way before he was president, but as president, I find myself in agreement with most of his policies.
The current collection of Democratic candidates is just a despicable coterie of self-righteous panderers and phonies, who all seem to despise the country that allowed them to be in their current exalted, but undeserving positions.
Indeed, the "educational" system and the oh so corrupt mass media have managed to create a mass of clueless, unthinking, low information fools.

Castro WAS the worst. In addition, he was clearly there to try to be the next Kamala Harris, "taking on" Biden (and he'll tank, as she did). Instead, he looked like a miserable crank, attacking Biden's memory--then doubling down when he got booed for it.
Between that and the protesters, I felt sorry for Biden. How the hell did those people get in there?

I guess you watched a different "debate" than the one I watched on ABC.
At least four of the people on that stage beat Donald in the electorate, hands down. Donald gets his 35%. That's it. No matter what he does in the next year. Good or bad.
To be honest, I could take or leave most of the candidates we saw last night. Maybe Warren or Booker. Hopefully we will see a new candidate emerge in the coming weeks, but it is getting late.
Do we really have to listen to 13 more months of this crap? Gawd I hope not, but I said the same thing in 2016 with the Repubs...and look what we got. Thank you Russia. You really pulled one on America.

the democrats are moving toward democratic socialism and many americans seem to want a western European, democratic socialist government. It is a fact that the two most leftists candidates, bernie and warren, are in the top three dem presidential candidates per the polls.
what is ironic is just as many American voters are turning to democratic socialism, many voters in the EU countries are raging a furious battle with their politicians to reverse many of the problematic issues of democratic socialism: globalization, growing social welfare programs, slow economic growth, and unfettered immigration.
the negative result of democratic socialism governments are there for all americans to see if they only would. so many americans have an idealized view of what this kind of government reaps.

And every gun store and gun show will have "Beto" sales, with AR-15's being referred to as "O'Rourkes". Similar to the Rosie O'Donnell episode many years ago.
