55% support impeachment if it is true that Trump pressured Ukraine for dirt on Biden
so do you think that Obama should have been impeached for pressuring Ukraine??
so do you think that VP Biden should have been impeached for pressuring Ukraine??
I am not saying it is ok for trumpo to do it...but if we are going to allow Obama/biden to do it, they a precedent has been set
Funny what trump has done in just 2+ years....and now you want to elect joe biden, whos has been ther for 40+ years.....8 of those being the VP....
And who the heck said I want to elect Biden? As are most assumptions, yours is short-sighted and incorrect.
In case you haven't noticed, Trump has done and is doing precisely what Nikita Khrushchev prognosticated would be done to the USA decades ago. His words: "We will bury you from within!"
Khrushchev has finally found his "within" man. His name? Donald Trump: usurper of laws, norms, and the principles which have truly Made America Great. Trump's actions are in line with the totalitarianism of 3rd world countries; the same countries he correctly defined as "sh_it-hole" countries.
Trump's actions are rapidly eroding what's made this country "A shinning city upon a hill (Ronald Reagan)."
Many of us and our representatives have been quick to turn a blind eye to the President's disregard for the rule of law and the spirit of the law. Each time this happens, we descend a little closer to that "sh_ithole" category he quickly ascribed to other countries.
Quick rundown of the events to get everyone caught up. Joe Bidens drug addict son who knows nothing about natural gas gets placed on the board of a corrupt gas company in Ukraine, paid millions of dollars for influence, Ukrainian prosecutor starts looking in to it, Biden threatens to withhold a billion dollar loan to the government as VP if the prosecutor isn’t fired, prosecutor immediately gets fired and the investigation ends, Biden openly brags about it. Trump presses the new PM about it, some weasel in the intelligence community listens to their conversation and leaks the info to a friend who files a whistleblower report and this is now somehow a Trump scandal that they’re trying to impeach him for.
There's another version to the story. Zelensky, a political neophyte, is elected President of the Ukraine in April. Giuliani sees the opportunity go after those involved in exposing Manafort and to discredit Biden. Giuliani starts a campaign against the State Department alleging collusion re Manafort and forcing the premature departure of the longterm US Ambassador to the Ukraine.
After she leaves, Giuliani applies pressure to the new President's aides to move against Biden. He was prevented from traveling to the Ukraine last May for the self-announced purpose of pushing for investigations but later met with Zelensky aides in Spain. Military and intelligence aid to the Ukraine goes on hold without explanation.
NSC aides express concern about any scheduled call or meeting between Trump and Zelensky, worried that Trump would go off script and bring up Biden. He did. On July 25. According to the WSJ, eight times in that conversation.
Per the NYT:
"Inside the White House, recriminations have begun over how the situation devolved to a point where a formal impeachment inquiry has been announced, people briefed on the situation said. Democrats said the president’s actions gave them no choice.
Some of his longtime critics blamed Mick Mulvaney, the acting White House chief of staff, for not acting more forcefully. But most blamed Rudolph W. Giuliani, the president’s personal lawyer, for aggressively digging for dirt on the Bidens in Ukraine and inserting himself into official dealings with a Ukrainian official through the State Department — as well as his public statements about his efforts.
The recently departed national security adviser, John R. Bolton, was deeply concerned about Mr. Giuliani’s involvement in national security matters, according to a person familiar with his thinking. It was unclear whether he raised it with either Mr. Trump or Mr. Giuliani." https://www.nytimes.com/2019/09/24/u...-congress.html
Pelosi is doing this for the benefit of the media so they'd have clickbait everyday. She knows Demwits would destroy their careers if they held a formal vote. Their zombie base is too stupid to realize it's just more fake news to string them along and get their donations.
They can't beat Trump fair and square at the ballot box and they know itl
Why did Giuliani who is the President's personal attorney feel the need to involve himself in foreign and national security affairs? If the Bidens were such a threat why not turn the matter over to the FBI or other official channel? (For asking those questions, Laura Ingraham is castigated in the comments section.)
Turns out he needs to defend Trump as his client from George Soros and the U.S. press. As for the FBI, it's unreliable. Specifically: its "performance is flawed." So Rudy to the rescue.
That Rudy's involvement in the Ukraine-Biden question was necessitated by a need to defend Trump as a client does rather suggest that Trump's request to the Ukrainian President concerning Biden is also for his personal advantage ....
And sure enough: according to the WSJ, Trump in his call to Volodymyr Zelensky "urged" him "about eight times to work with Rudy Giuliani on a probe that could hamper Mr. Trump’s potential 2020 opponent."
So you've got Rudy admitting to the world that his efforts are for the benefit of his client (not the nation, not the rule of law) ... and Trump telling Zelensksy to cooperate with those efforts - with Rudy.
Wow. Not sure the Democrats have much choice. How can impeachment not become an issue?
