"White supremacy and police brutality are global problems. It would be wrong for us to ignore the unearned privilege that exists in [our company]. Much of the project leadership is white, and a majority are men. We are and have been systematically complicit in perpetuating the issues that led us to where we are."
They should follow the example of the Reddit CEO and quit. Every last one of them. Turn the company over to black people, go back to their houses, and cringe in disgust every time they look in the mirror.
I'll give them this, at least. They are not perpetuating white supremacy. Self-loathing fools like these are not superior to anyone.
When I was a child growing up in my all-white city, my grandma would French-braid my reddish brown hair. Even in my 20s and 30s, she would braid it. I liked the look and it kept my long hair out of my face. Okay, so what about the Scandinavian countries? Are their braids to be banned as cultural misappropriation? I am so sick of this constant pandering to social justice warriors and their pc bs.
Whoever came up with the concept of cultural appropriation needs to spend serious time being tormented in Hell. Embracing each other’s culture is how people start finding common ground and leave “us and them” behind to become “we” with a new blended “our” culture.

Need to spread the love before I can give you some more. So I'll just give you this:

This was my first thought when I saw her hair - french braids! Not cornrows or dreadlocks. White women have been wearing french braids for centuries. Little girls everywhere have been wearing braids for centuries. It's not a cultural thing - it's a practical way to keep long hair neat and knot free. Are white woman only allowed to wear their hair down, long and straight (or short enough that you can't braid it)?
Stevenson said she was "not making excuses or trying to justify" and had got her inspiration for the braids from photos of people sporting the hairstyle at Coachella.
"Not once did I even think about cultural appropriation," she said. "If that even crossed my mind I wouldn't have done it because you guys know I hate conflict, I hate controversy."
Poor baby. Live by Twitter, die by Twitter. Buh Bye.
Fight back! The ENTIRE U.S. is based on "Cultural Appropriation". Stop kneeling to the lying Communists!

Exactly. To me it seems like it could be taken as a complimentary gesture. I guess for those looking to divide and make everything about race they have managed to flip it on it's side.
