Just off the top of my head and not following the lemmings. . . .
- Booming economy throughout most of his term -- in fact all of it until the dems regained control of congress ;-)
- Took the fight to al-Qaeda and severely curtailed their operations against the US - no recent planes into buildings killing 3,000 or bombs into ships killing dozens, embassies bombed throughout the planet killing hundreds with token replies.
- Pulled together a coalition of 60 countries to remove a brutal dictator from Iraq that had killed 100,000 of his own women and children, offered comfort to bin Laden, sent an assassin team to kill a US president, and was developing WMDs.
- Appeared to have finally halted North Korea's nuclear weapons program - perhaps the greatest threat to millions. Ended the token US effort with real results.
- Kept international pressure on Iran to halt their nuclear weapons programs.
- Pursued elements of al-Qaeda throughout the globe.
- Restored America's pride and strength - enabled French and Italian presidents to be elected on a pro-US platform.
- Bi-partisan effort to improve education with the passage of the no child left behind act.
- Proposed to expand SCHIP to cover needy families and children only to have Pelosi and the dems refuse to vote on it for political gamesmanship.
You're just following a different species of lemmings. I am consistently amazed at people who criticize people of the opposite party, saying, "oh, you just adopt whatever position the party tells you to," and then they turn around and do the same thing with their party.
"Restored America's pride and strength?" NCLB improves education? Are you joking?
Note to LNTT_Vacationer regarding North Korea's Nuclear Weapons Program -
Bush didn't force North Korea to give up the program. In fact, North Korea pushed forth and developed an atomic bomb. They only gave up the program AFTER THEIR BOMB TEST FIZZLED. In other words, they gave up a program that had demonstratedly (and much to their embarrassment) failed.
Once that happened THEN they offered to give up their program (which wasn't working anyway) - in the hopes that they could salvage something by getting US aid in exchange.
And Bush agreed to give them what they wanted.
I would hardly catagorize that as a "success" for Bush. Had their bomb worked, they probably wouldn't have given it up.
Bush claim to fame? Continuing the process of hamstringing middle class to favor obscene wealth, nullifying enforcement arm of regulatory agencies in favor of business, encouraging a climate of economic hemmorage through profiteering in oil/middle eastern industrial military complex and getting by with an illegal war based on premeditated lies/manipulation. Ironic there have been grounds for impeachment on much flimsier evidence/issues. Had this man been practicing politics or business locally, his fate would be a jail cell. I did express my sentiments to him directly at the white house, and I'm certain he'll never dare to knock on my door. I told him he should be forced to live in exile in Iraq.
As dumb as he's been portrayed, this couldn't be accomplished by the finest of charlatans throughout world history. How'd that work out for you, America?
Actually, I was going to reply to that effect, but the thread wasn't meant as a bash Bush moment. Every once in a while an irrelevant yes man like Bush needs to be seen as having done at least a couple of good things.
But enabling the Fed to create a Ponzi scheme out of real estate has to top them all for the negs.
Clinton did that, not Bush. More than 75% of your sub-prime loans were issued during the Clinton Administration. You might recall that the US economy had been flat for all of 2000 and the US entered into a recession in January of 2001, before Bush took office, and that the sub-prime debacle first emerged in 2003.

The title of the thread is "What Are Bush's Major Accomplishments In His 2 Terms- Good Or Bad?" Not, "Bush's Claim to Fame."
And, for about the 10th time, this is not an "illegal war." The 1991 Cease-Fire agreement gave the U.S. legal authority to resume military action against Iraq if the agreement was broken.
Did the Democrats in Congress have a part in the "lies/manipulation?" Because they were making the same claims of WMD.
"North Korea's nuclear test last October was a failure and gives no credence to Pyongyang's claim to being a nuclear weapons state, U.S. CIA Director Michael Hayden was quoted as saying by a South Korean newspaper on Wednesday."
The fact is the bomb didn't fully detonate and at the time there was question about whether or not the bomb was even nuclear. Later radioactive analysis determined the bomb was indeed nuclear but that it had largely been a dud.

As you can see, the percentage of sub-prime loans skyrocleted under Bush:
