Florida ranks near the top of states in vaccines administered per capita.
It should rank highly as it also ranks highly in the number of doses distributed per capita, significantly higher than in many states.

Did you decide to start a new thread in order to attempt to mislead readers of this forum???

<<Here are the facts. Florida has received many more doses per 100k than other states, perhaps because of its higher percentage of elderly population. Despite often requiring long lines, and prioritizing 65- to 70-years-old compared to other states, Florida's ratio of doses administered/doses received isn't much different than other states, and sometimes much lower.

E.g., as of Jan. 15, Florida has administered 3,972 of 9,634 (all per 100k population and CDC statistics; click on states in map linked below), for a percentage of 41.2 percent. Texas has administered 4,001 of is 7,262 doses received for a percentage of 55 percent.>>

Florida also ranks 26th in deaths per capita, with New York, New Jersey, Mass, and Rhode Island ranking most deadly (1,2,3,& 4 respectively)....

Facts don't lie.[/quote]

If I had time I would update this post to see how DeSantis has fared since October. From June 30 to October 31, DeSantis' management of the Florida COVID-19 epidemic was a disaster, especially compared to New York, New Jersey, etc.

https://www.city-data.com/forum/flor...l#post59572597

Additionally, many persons doubt the accuracy of Florida's COVID-19 statistical reporting. Rebekah Jones, Florida's champion of accurate COVID-19 reporting, has been targeted for prosecution by the DeSantis administration.

Hopefully, the Biden administration will introduce centralized and uniform reporting procedures to eliminate the manipulation of data by state administrations, an accusation repeatedly leveled at the DeSantis administration.

As Mark Twain famously wrote: " 'There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.'" Statistics manipulated by a "Big Lie" propagandist typically are very misleading.

I can't stand DeSantis but I wish things went better for Florida. I wish that despite everything you guys have been through, that the vaccine roll out would have gone well.

Hopefully things turn around soon. For everyone.
I actually liked his policies on the everglades and his work trying to restore the natural water flow, have even met him and shook his hand. Thought he was great. However now, after watching him stick his head in the sand and leave Floridian's out in the "cold" vs snowbirds, it's unforgivable.

Apparently people who got the first vaccine were told they would be notified ( by text message, email or phone call) when it was time for their second booster. I saw on the local news today they're being notified now, instructed to keep their phones handy. I guess if they don't show, that's on them.

Do you seriously not realize that these "snowbirds" are Floridians as well? They LIVE here, too.

Do you seriously not realize that these "snowbirds" are basically Floridians as well? They LIVE here, too.

And if you think the logistics of administering the vaccine is difficult already, imagine trying to check legal status, etc. Goodness. You'd complain about that slowing it down. Simply can't win with serial whiners like yourself.

Snowbirds should stay home during a global pandemic. That is the safest place for them and where they should get the vaccine. States were given vaccines based on full time resident status. End of story.

”Former New York State Democratic Party leader John Sullivan, who worked as the upstate coordinator for Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s (D) 2014 reelection campaign, received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine in Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R) Florida, admitting he “probably wouldn’t have gotten it by now in New York.”
”Sullivan recognized Florida as a leader in vaccinating seniors, praised DeSantis for choosing to prioritize that population, and noted that Cuomo’s call to vaccinate seniors “came a week later,” as the Democrat governor instead prioritized healthcare workers.”

Do you see the problem with a guy from new york thinking he should be the priority over a healthcare worker? Do you see the problem with that person being able to fly down to FL and take a vaccine that was meant for a Floridian (because that's how vaccines were sent out) ?
