It should rank highly as it also ranks highly in the number of doses distributed per capita, significantly higher than in many states.

<<Here are the facts. Florida has received many more doses per 100k than other states, perhaps because of its higher percentage of elderly population. Despite often requiring long lines, and prioritizing 65- to 70-years-old compared to other states, Florida's ratio of doses administered/doses received isn't much different than other states, and sometimes much lower.

E.g., as of Jan. 15, Florida has administered 3,972 of 9,634 (all per 100k population and CDC statistics; click on states in map linked below), for a percentage of 41.2 percent. Texas has administered 4,001 of is 7,262 doses received for a percentage of 55 percent.>>

If I had time I would update this post to see how DeSantis has fared since October. From June 30 to October 31, DeSantis' management of the Florida COVID-19 epidemic was a disaster, especially compared to New York, New Jersey, etc.

https://www.city-data.com/forum/flor...l#post59572597

Additionally, many persons doubt the accuracy of Florida's COVID-19 statistical reporting. Rebekah Jones, Florida's champion of accurate COVID-19 reporting, has been targeted for prosecution by the DeSantis administration.

Hopefully, the Biden administration will introduce centralized and uniform reporting procedures to eliminate the manipulation of data by state administrations, an accusation repeatedly leveled at the DeSantis administration.

As Mark Twain famously wrote: " 'There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.'" Statistics manipulated by a "Big Lie" propagandist typically are very misleading.
The only thing misleading on this forum is you.

If speedy vaccine distribution was really a priority for the DeSantis administration,. then why wasn't a unified single vaccination reservation in the works last fall when early Phase 3 vaccine trial results were promising?

I'm not sure they have had a major issue getting the vaccine out. He left it up to counties and local health systems, and that makes plenty of sense to me. At some point the local governments also need to be accountable and help with the process. The more localized, usually the smoother things should be.

And can you imagine adding the burden of checking residency documents, turning away people who don't have them to the already burdened professionals trying to get the vaccines given to folks who show up for the vaccines?

Exactly. People waiting 2 hours and then being turned away because they have XYZ missing document. And I'll reiterate, many eligible people don't want it for whatever reason, don't want to deal with trying to get it, etc. The incoming administration very openly talked down the vaccine and scared people from getting it. We need people to take it. The last thing we need is to discourage people with extra hoops to jump through.

And if you think the logistics of administering the vaccine is difficult already, imagine trying to check legal status, etc. Goodness. You'd complain about that slowing it down. Simply can't win with serial whiners like yourself.

Yeah, until a city/county wants to do something that he doesn't like.

BREAKING NEWS

There is now a residency requirement, or at least will be phased in soon. You will at least have to be a part-time resident.

So all of this "it's a federal program" blah blah blah has been bunk this whole time.

Despite higher death rates in New York and New Jersey, you still make a silly comment as to how they are better than Florida. You have zero credibility.

Ok then. Looks like the out of staters- foreign travelers ( or complaints of such) to get vaccines in FL has reached enough of a critical mass that they figured something needed to be done about it. Frankly, I'm glad to see it.

Note the requirement is for at least part time residency in FL. That does not exclude snowbird property owners in the state.

Florida ranks 16th in vaccine distribution per capita out of 50 states.

I don't have an issue with 16th. That is well above average, & we have no state income tax to subsidize this.

Florida is a well run state..& no state is perfect. Florida is better than most. Proof?

https://www.browardpalmbeach.com/new...o-poll-7457892

Visitors, Snow Birds, and new residents are flocking here by the Thousands. Florida has been one of the fastest growing states for decades. Its the state most Americans want to live in!

Some people will never be happy, they are glum by nature, & habitual complainers.

Ignore them...don't worry...be happy
