This guy is at the top of my list of people I hope don’t return to DC. Perhaps he ought to be asking himself what unspoken message he is sending out about himself that would make others think it’s okay to do this stuff around him or invite him to participate. Since one if flat out illegal and the other carries huge social stigma, generally participants limit invitations to only those they are fairly certain will say yes. Most people, even young people, have never been offered a chance to do either of those things.
People make false assumptions about other people all the time. Obviously whoever invited him made a poor assumption about his character, and thought he'd be cool with this type of crap.
Maybe this is a tactic they employ. You invite a straight shirt to a lewd party, then blackmail him over it, and thereby hope to slowly corrupt him into the fold, over time.
That is precisely what happens with newbies. The swamp eventually finds a weakness to exploit, & then they own that Congressperson. It might be drugs, money, sex, or all of the above.
I wonder how true this is. It sounds like something right out of a movie script.
I have zero interest in any of this kind of stuff. I'm a pretty boring vanilla guy. Coke fueled orgies are not in the cards for me.
