Now if gas goes back to sub 2.80 a gal for prem i would go back to a fast gas car.
What Camaro gets 8mpg? The lowest I could find gets 14 city.

Wow! Buy a $50,000 - $60,000 EV and save $80 a month!!!

From the article: "The president blamed Russian President Vladimir Putin for the spike in gas prices as well as the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

He spoke at length about his green energy subsidy plans currently awaiting support from Congress.

“Under my plan, which is before the Congress now, we can take advantage of the next generation of electric vehicles, that a typical driver will save about $80 a month from not having to pay gas at the pump,” Biden boasted.
"

First of all, how do you "pay gas at the pump"?

Second of all, how does paying $50,000 - $60,000 to save $80 a month make ANY financial sense? I guess it's this kind of thinking that has us $30,000,000,000,000 in debt.
I watched the press conference and just laughed when he called it the "Putin's price hike"....sadly people will believe this.

And what a mistake tapping into the strategic reserves. We burn through 19 million barrels a day, and he is tapping the reserve for 1 million barrels a day. SMH. Leave it along and we can all work through this. Prices always drop eventually.

My Model Y saves me more like $400/mo compared to my truck that I recently sold. My Model Y was also cheaper than my truck to buy.

I get it, for those of you driving your paid off 2001 Toyota or pickup, you will have to recover the upfront cost of buying a new car, which you would have to do whether buying an EV or ICE vehicle.

This. A drop in Biden's approval rating is NOT an emergency.

In a way it makes sense. People are going out now and buying 50-60k brand new trucks and SUVs, buy an ev instead and you'll be saving on fuel and maintenance costs immediately.

I do agree that's more expensive than most people can afford, but there are a lot of Americans buying cars they already can't afford anyways.

EV owners don't pay for gas or for taxes at the pump. So how to remedy this? Soon every car will be taxed according to miles driven. With the help of Big Tech, another government control and invasion of privacy will be forced on us.

Does that include $24K for the battery change on a Tesla?
