I'm all for helping Ukraine fight off Russian aggression 40 billion? How is it we always have money to send abroad but when it comes to America oh the government is broke we have huge deficits ridicules!
Why pay taxes if the government can just print unlimited amounts of money? We've done our part let Europe foot the rest of the bill it concerns them more than us.

Agreed. Like you, my heart goes out to the people in Ukraine and I think putin is a modern day Hitler. However, 40 billion is something we cannot afford and this is getting ridiculous
Over half the budget is funded with debt/new money. Over half of what the fed govt does is illegal or unauthorized. Its at this point you should realize taxes are just a big con to keep us in line

The US military budget in 2021 was $801 Billion - that pretty much amounts to a huge subsidy (welfare) for a giant sector of the US population/economy.
Given that the entire military expenditure is ostensibly to keep us safe from military threats, Russia being the biggest one, it doesn't seem any more excessive than for example - $135 million for each Lockheed F35 fighter jet (plus hundreds of millions more in maintenance)

How much did we spend on Iraq and Afghanistan? How many American lives were lost? Are you upset about that too?
