Democrats had a super majority in 2009 and chose not to pass gun laws.

Democrat Schumer has a BIPARTISAN gun law waiting to be voted on and refuses to let it make it to the floor for a vote. He prevented a vote on it in 2021.

The bottom line is Democrats don't want to pass a gun law. They want to campaign on passing a gun law. Democrats are more than happy to sacrifice lives in return for votes.

Because they're the uniparty. Obama had a supermajority and nothing got done. What makes you think they have the balls with a slim majority?

In a book authored by Ted Cruz, and on Youtube videos, he calls those "pretend votes."

One way to find out is for Schumer (D) to put it on the floor for a vote, but he refuses.

However Schumer (D) and Democrats don't really want any gun bill to pass. They want to dangle the carrot forever in order to pressure people to vote for them.

Possibly the only way Democrats will finally pass gun laws they could have passed for decades is if that bill contains a law stating only Democrats can vote in all future elections. That's their true end goal.

Democratic senators in rural\hunting type states are the reason.

Just pull the map and look at the dem senators in states like WI, MI, MT, MN etc. and THAT is why the D's won't move on it beyond minor window dressing type actions.

It's too late for culture changes. It all ties into "independence/freedom" which is the core of Americans. From economics to everything else we do in life here.

The same reason they didn't "do something" about Immigration, Open Borders, DACA, Inflation, Abortion and Out of Control Crime.

They spend 150% of all their time on 4 issues.

1). Getting ReElected to stay on the Taxpayer Funded Gravy Train
2). The Fairytale dream of Utopia IF there was NO Fossil Fuel
3). Get rid of any Scary Republican that might rock their Gravy Train - OrangeManBad is top of the list.
4). Make Double-Triple SURE that Minorities are steeped in their Victimhood. Leftists can't exist without their Minority Victims.

The last thing they want to do is to actually get bogged down in WORK - they only show up for WORK 3.70 days a week now and they are way to busy with items 1, 2, 3, 4 to actually do something helpful to the public. It's Wash/Rinse/Repeat to Promise what they KNOW they will never deliver.

The Entire Uni-Party participates in this Game.
