A representative from the power company was on the radio the other day and talking about the 28% increase that is coming. Gee Thanks Biden, I live in the North East and I tore out my polluting oil burning heater in favor of electric base board heaters. I traded in my gas vehicles and took out a $500 per month loan for a Tesla because my Democrat elected told me too and now the price for electricity is going up! Thanks Brandon.
Actually I didn't do any of that BUT the Democrats told us to.
Local newspaper story. Man shuts off main breaker to one of the buildings he owns. With no electricity used he received a $115 bill from the company for this building and the entire bill was nothing but fees and nothing for electricity used.
No idea yet, but adding millions of cars onto an electric grid without opening new coal plants isnt going to work.
Utilities are NEVER going to build new coal power plants in the US because they can’t compete on cost and are filthy toxic polluters due to the inherent coal ash waste problem. Live on top of a coal power plant and your opinion on whether they are good will change fast.
Utilities are adding a massive amount of new generating capacity, however some of the installations were slowed by supply chain issues and tariffs on solar from China. I certainly think we need to manufacture all of the components here in the US when possible as the quantity of new installations to the grid will be very numerous over the next 10-20 years.
Not concerned at all as I keep my thermostat at 64F all winter and use an alternate heat source.
