Not sure, I live in Florida where AA has not been used for admission since 1998 and it does not seem to be a problem here. Actually, overall its Men in general struggling here and women of all races seem to be doing better.
I'm usually hearing how whenever Affirmative Action ends with college admissions the numbers for Black-American and Hispanic students show big drops. But I never hear anyone explain why this drop happens? So why do we see a drop in college enrollment when AA is removed for those students? Why don't we see drops with Asian students?
The gaps in SAT scores between different racial groups are actually much greater than most people realize, particularly in the high ranges.
If we went just by SAT scores, very few blacks or Hispanics would be admitted to the most selective and prestigious universities in the United States.
I think people need to start accepting facts as they are in real life.

Do you have any hard data or reports that actually show what you are hearing?

And White Men would plummet. Court cases have already illustrated that a significant portion of White Men is admitted under Legacy and "sports" admissions at the Ivy League level. White women are doing well though but women of all races are doing better than Men.
So keep in mind that if admissions were PURLEY based on merit White Men would plummet as well. This was noted in the recent Supreme Court case that the Asian students brought up. I don't know why White Men keep pointing at Black folk and laughing, when those legacy admissions "sports" admission gets challenged and tossed (Lawsuits are already filed) you going to see a big drop in White Men admitted. The number at Harvard that was noted in the court case was over 30% of White Men were under Legacy, Donor, or admitted for "Sports" reasons. That is quite a lot of students.

The impact on whites wouldn't be nearly as severe as it would be on blacks and Hispanics.
And you could lower the number of Asians by limiting of the number of admissions from foreign countries.
But personally, I'm all for having university admissions based on academic merit only.
It doesn't matter if it has a disparate racial or gender impact.

This is from the NY Times.
"After Michigan banned race-conscious admissions in 2006, Black undergraduate enrollment declined at the University of Michigan, the state’s flagship school. The share of Black students fell to 4 percent in 2021, from 7 percent in 2006."
I wonder where other Black people fit into these college numbers?
An interesting article.
"There is a subgroup of black Americans in this country who continue to achieve at high levels, results that might provide some clues to solving one of our most persistent educational problems. First- and second-generation immigrants from Africa and the Caribbean, though only 13 percent of the nation’s blacks as a whole, represent 41 percent of all those of African descent at 28 selective universities and 23 percent of the black population at all public universities."

That's a hilarious claim. I can tell you've never been to Africa. I have. I've lived in Africa. I can tell you that the structures, especially houses, were built by locals.
Let's just be honest. Some individuals are looking for any excuse to vent any anti-Black anger they have in them. Said person likely has never been to Africa, and doesn't care to go.

They are foreign-born Blacks. The outperform Americans of any race. Different country, different standards, different history.
