To be honest, I am surprised he managed to survive this long. He made a big mistake returning to mother Russia. Putin can add another notch on his belt (if there is still room).
"Ten died when aircraft came down on flight from Moscow to St Petersburg, according to emergency ministry"
Reuters has reported that the Russian mercenary chief Yevgeny Prigozhin was listed as a passenger on a private jet which crashed north of Moscow on Wednesday, the TASS news agency reported, citing Rosaviatsia, Russia’s aviation authority.
Prigozhin was a dead man soon as he lead that rebellion against Putin. Fool that he was the guy simply didn't bother to read up nor understand history of his own country. You didn't eff with the Tsars, Lenin, Stalin or pretty much any other Russian leader and live long to tell the tale.
Best move Prigozhin could have made was what many Nazis did after WWII, flee to the east and find some bolt hole. Being tried for war crimes and other atrocities would have landed the guy in some European prison, but at least he'd be alive.
Thing to watch now is what happens to Prigozhin's family and his vast wealth/estates.

He was never a fool, and he was always saying "Do what you have to do, and whatever happens, happens."
Well, accidents really do happen. They even happen to well-known people. And they even happen at times that are convenient for other people.
Accident or not, and assuming Prighozin was on the plane, this incident serves Putin well. Both because someone inconvenient is now gone, and because the suspicion that Putindidit just adds to his reputation.
The truth will out someday, I’m sure. I just doubt it will come out anytime soon.

This was not an accident.
They were fired at.
It's a big question now what happened to the people on the second plane after it landed.
TBD if he was actually on the downed plane or not.
