We are repeating the same history that led to the downfall of the Roman empire (invasion, illegal immigration)

Another contributing factor:
Money madness, scarcity of money, and the demand for usury (loans).
Since there was never a time in history, where the supply and trade value of money tokens kept proportionality with the marketplace, any "successful" empire will become stressed by lack of funds (to facilitate trade, pay workers, support army, etc).
Recent "empires" were built upon acquiring "new" money / wealth / bullion by conquest. Once that declined, so did the empires.
The current switch to debt/credit currency borrowed (at usury) into existence, and lent into circulation, is a time bomb, about to explode (outstanding debt far exceeds the total amount of circulating money, insuring devastation when debtors default).
(Addendum: NO government is "printing up money." If they had that power, why would they need to TAX money back from the people in order to spend it? Bankers are printing up IOUs (debt) that are circulating as "legal tender". )
They already made the choice to have unprotected sex. They don't get to KILL another human being just because they're unhappy with the consequences of their own voluntary actions.
Also, it isn't just the woman's body involved in an abortion. The woman will most likely survive an abortion while the growing child inside of her will die. What's gives her the right to kill a growing human being?
Racist post, Mr 14 posts.
It's really all you have.
Exactly, all these pro-illegals have is the race card when it's not about race or skin color it's about our laws! There is no hatred for the most part of legal immigrants regardless of their skin color but there sure as hell is objection to illegal aliens and rightly so!
I recently finished reading a book that compared the Roman Republic with our nation. I had no idea how turbulent their nation was. And yes, there are a lot of similarities between their and our politics, and their and our social "climate."
Well, the US is not really an empire in the sense that Rome was. If it was, I wouldn't necessarily want it to remain so. Do we really want the US to be the world's only superpower, responsible for keeping the peace between all nations? Do we really want the US to be projecting military power across the world, with troops stationed all over the globe?
To the extent that the US is an empire, I foresee our demise being similar to that of the French and British Empires. No longer superpowers, yet prosperous modern democracies.
We don't give away land free from taxation to illegal aliens, but we sure spent our treasure to support them.
We could do that if we were like Rome and occupied all South and Central American countries. We could negotiate away some places like Honduras to the locals there. But we are not like Rome, and do not occupy an empire. British Empire gave up pretty much all their colonies when they realized they would not be able to hold on to them. Romans were more stubborn and fought for the lands, and little by little their armies got eaten up to a point where even Rome was sacked. Is that going to happen to the US? Of course not. People who fantasize about the US going down in the way of Rome have been doing it for as long as I remember, but it has always been nothing but a fantasy.
When their political party is not in power, things are always the worst ever, and US it going down like Rome, and when they are in power, things are always best ever. Some things never change.
All empires fade over time. Some recent (historically speaking) ones are mostly forgotten. Ask most folks about the Ottoman Empire and they are clueless. The Mongol Empire was the largest contiguous land empire in history. The last remnant ended in 1920 with the abdication of Khan Sayid Abdullah.
People misunderstand the Roman Empire. It was a collection of states ruled by the Senate, the Emperor, and tributary states all under the umbrella of the Roman Empire.
