There is a common denominator everyone is missing out on.

What is the rate of biracial children with white moms that are single moms?
It is way higher than white children with 2 white parents.

Listen, we can say that people should be married. BUT, the men have to be ready to marry. They do not want to. So..... here we are.

What is the percentage of black men in jail?

What is the percentage of black men that can support a family?

We cant demand marriage unless you fix the job/income situation among black men. On top of their mental health issues.

Bingo, we have a winner folks. There are no consequences to having kids out of wedlock in this country, only financial incentives.

When you pay poor people to have kids.... that's exactly what they're going to do.

School choice is part of the solution. Sometimes, parents might wind up making a poor choice, but they should be allowed to choose again after each Semester. I think only a small portion would do so.

Bad Teachers in failed urban schools must be eradicated, for the good of our students' futures.

I see improved education in these areas as being the key to breaking the cycle of single parent homes.

Interesting story...thx for sharing. That could be a partial solution if we could provide that option to single parents.

There aren't children starving in the US, except those who are kept in closets or cages while the rest of the family thrives, and those are very very few kids.

Kids were underfed and eating out of garbage cans, or dying, or suffering maladies of malnutrition, before welfare.

And MANY of those children lived in two parent houses, but dad was drinking the money they had.

Nuclear families do not cause starvation. Quit feeding the purveyors of this nonsense!

The issue here is not men, but the women. The man may not be ready to raise a family, but it's the woman who gets pregnant and then chooses to keep the child anyway.

And this is the mentality that has caused this whole problem.

Blaming the women, who are doing the best that they can in a very difficult situation, rather than blaming the man who has skipped out on his responsibility.

The difference in a single parent family and a two parent family is there is no man. Not that there is no woman. Almost always.

With abortion access going to the wayside in many states, the state might be the one choosing that the woman keeps the child, even if the woman would rather get an abortion.

Expect single parent households to rise due to the new abortion laws.

The Dems also trap Black students in failed urban schools, so they can't get good jobs, and support a family.

This is a liberal policy train wreck, & has been for decades under liberal control of our urban areas.

My solutions:

Fix the urban schools by bannng Teachers unions, and allowing school vouchers so they can attend anywhere they can get to...school choice.

Make it easier to fire bad Teachers...which banning unions would do.

Enforce our nations laws to make a life of crime look extremely undesireable to young Black men.

Provide more trade schools & training in urban areas, & in the prison system.

These solutions would be a nice start.
In Texas, teachers unions have zero power. They mostly exist to lobby the Legislature and to provide support for teachers with grievances. Banning them would do zero, and would violate the 1st Amendment. Even if it was legal to ban teachers unions, you would have to ban police and fire unions as well, just to be fair.

In Houston ISD we have school choice. The schools in the worst p[arts of town have 50% or more of their zoned students transferring to other schools. The students who remain are the hardest to educate and there is never enough money available to provide everything necessary to replace the lack of parental involvement. Because those schools had bad test scores, the State took over HISD, and are making things even worse. Keep in mind that the State is run by the GOP, and the new Superintendent is a favorite of the GOP. Going to vouchers isn't going to change the fact that lower SES students are harder to teach.

The life of crime for young Black men starts with arrests for drug possession, especially marijuana. After that, they are often unemployable, and crime is the only way they can get by. They are not afraid of prison.

The GOP in Texas makes prisons as harsh as possible, but that doesn't stop repeat offending.
