I recall a WW1 German general, when one of his aides mused "sometimes i wonder who side God is on", replied, "God is on the side with the biggest cannon".

Coincidence, I'm sure. Right?

In one breath they think it was a lightning strike but in the next, they (especially the mayor) express doubt about what brought it down. Their responses to it are weird. The artist said he was going to paint it bigger and better. If it were me, I'd leave well enough alone. The fact of how it happened would cause me to NOT repaint it.

So sad to see Turkey devolving into an Islamic extremist nation when once it was a secular Islamic nation. If Turkey progresses further then they should be kicked out of NATO.

Maybe it was judgment for colonizing the entire middle east?

Just like Spain, the Ottomans free pass colonizers of centuries past....now it's just Europeans, white ones, very white ones.

Science is hard. Especially when the mayor and voters are morons. Lightning strikes are hard to fake, they know the truth but conspiracy is easier.

A perfect moment, "Allah" strikes down a Heritic. Considering much of Islam didn't agree with what the Ottoman empire did being the guiding direction of Mohammad. Erdogon is just trying to revive the good ole days of Ottoman Islamic Colonialism

Several people said that in the 1600s and 1700, and later. One of the was Napoleon IIRC. "God is on the side of the largest regiments."

He seems like a jerk, but I don't want to cheer for the occurrence of a heart attack, stroke, or any other serious medical event.
