In one breath they think it was a lightning strike but in the next, they (especially the mayor) express doubt about what brought it down. Their responses to it are weird. The artist said he was going to paint it bigger and better. If it were me, I'd leave well enough alone. The fact of how it happened would cause me to NOT repaint it.

Science is hard. Especially when the mayor and voters are morons. Lightning strikes are hard to fake, they know the truth but conspiracy is easier.
