This is mostly to address public perception but it seems like an overreaction. It could have the opposite effect.
What's next you trying to convince people that DeSantis is taking action because of constant coverage on MSNBC?

It couldn't be that the "perception" of New Yorkers is from what they are seeing in their daily lives. Nope...it HAS to be that evil Fox News spreading fear again....

Guess these people are listening too much to Fox News as well.
Gov. Kathy Hochul sending National Guard members to New York City subways to combat ongoing crime

New York will send National Guard to subways after a string of violent crimes

National Guard and State Police Will Patrol the Subways and Check Bags

But go ahead and keep trying to gaslight.

Since taking office on Jan. 1, Bragg has downgraded 52% of felony cases to misdemeanors — compared to 39% in all of 2019. Between 2013 and 2020, under District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr., the percentage of cases the office downgraded had never exceeded 40%, according to data made public by the DA’s office.

When serious felony charges are brought, Bragg’s office wins a conviction just 51% of the time — down from 68% in 2019, the last year before the pandemic disrupted the court system.

The denial is strong in that one. Either that or Kathy Hochul has fallen to the evil Fox news propaganda machine.

So in pother words bringing in the NG is a hollow publicity stunt.

I knew it.

Goodluck. That refusal will give them probable cause to detain you.

I agree with you on this but you would have to ask the courts not the police why they allowed this. Your taking a response to a question on snitching, no one said that crime isn't occurring. I guess the anonymous reporting sites don't exist in GOP cities because everyone reports on everyone else...

Could this be a backdoor tact for serious terrorism concerns. If they admit the NG is there to help stop an attack or find terrorist that would be an admission their policies have enabled some really bad people.

Fox has a high viewership, watch any of their programs today and you will see looped assaults going back to the summer and fall. The media certainly has an impact but facts are another story.

You are blaming Fox News after a democrat Gov sending in the NG to a deep blue city in a blue state?

In that case I am blaming CNN and MSNBC for overreacting the event on J6. Fair?

Well they scared the Governor of NYS enough to call out the National Guard.

Stop cherry picking, every borough in NYC downgrade around 50% of felony charges and they were higher prior to Bragg. They don't want to go to court if they can't prove a case and they certainly want to avoid a trial for some convictions. You need to look at the reasoning behind their actions, every prosecutor offers plea bargains depending on criminal history and a number of other factors.

If you're claiming that a 52% rate is high, then you need to show data for other cities.
