To be honest, and fair, the police can't really protect anyone from anything. They mostly show up after a crime has occurred, investigate, maybe arrest offender/s, and write up a report. Just look at protest riot situations in which the police have been dispatched. Do people still get assaulted even though the police are there? YES.

I voted "NO". The university needs to bring in the cops or the National Guard and get these people out. All of the students that are participating should be suspended permanently. Anyone that is not a student should be arrested and not let right back out. If they are not legal citizens they need to be deported.
If the university lets them do what ever they want they deserved to be burned down.
Columbia University just made it official; they are going to online “learning” for the rest of the semester. They are giving up the use of expensively built facilities in surrender to the forces of anarchy and chaos.
I disagree. Donors are under no compulsion to donate. Donors are donating in part to gain leverage over how their money is used. Since his owners do not have enough resources to set up their own universities, they donate the existing universities and expect to have something to say about how their money is used. If you have children come do you give allowance without conditions? I don't think so.
Hamas did not succeed in eliminating Israel by the October 7th massacre. Israel has not lost the war. Why should a victor surrender? Only in the halls of academia with this be seriously suggested.
Israel has been reserved in their response. They could have done a lot more damage and quicker had they wanted to do so.
What these leftists like Gates and Zuck fail to grasp, is the pro-Hamas protesters in these colleges are targeting, are Jews. They are not simply protesting Israel, they hate JEWS, and are targeting any Jew they see. If they were simply protesting the politics of Israel, then no Americans would ever be in their sights. But this protest is about the extermination of Jews, regardless of which nation they live in.
The government has let a lot of evil people into the country who want to kill Jews. There might be a very horrible event coming in the future. Things are already heated. The people who are targeting Jews have celebrated October 7. They already have shown people how they are. Jews need to be vigilant.
