Last night I was listening to the radio and they were talking about the new Government Id cards, and I wasn't listening very well apparently but I thought I heard them say that they would have a tracking device or a way to track where the card was, has any one heard, read or know anything about these cards? What they can or can't do, or will or won't do? If they are able to track the whereabouts of the card how do you feel about it? How much information are you willing to have on you about yourself that can be available to anyone that has a scanner or anyone that wants to be you. I would have preferred a retina scan or even a thumbprint, a lot harder to steal, for identification. If I sound ignorant about these cards its because I am. Opinions and knowledge would be welcome.

Well I hope the tracking part is in case it gets stolen!! I have nothing to hide from the government but still.... I heard something about them awhile ago, something about replacing all other id's including driver licenses, like an all in one.

I saw a UFO last night and it landed on my neighbor's lawn! lol This is absolutely crazy! This would never be accepted into society, because it would have a popular vote of 0.0000001%.

I would agree to that, but I wonder, who said we are suppose to know. My daughter had a gps in her phone when she bought it, of course she had it deactivated but I thought it a terrific idea, needless to say she didn't and she is over twenty five so I had no say . Darn.

I like the GPS in the phone, especially for the kids. Are we going to get to vote on the new ID's or just have them take over?

I know nothing about them, whether they are a rumor or only for government employees or people that fly a lot, or everyone, I too vote for teenagers, and of course the elderly with dementia, but I do not know.

It is a standardized drivers license/Passport. Due to all the states being Diffrent and on Diffrent Systems during 9/11 the terrorist used this aginst us. So the Natinal ID as it is called, will go into effect in 2008. All states are currently making the requirments. The only reason I know this, is Here in NH it is in the paper Everytime something changes with it due to us having almost all of it ready. No they can't trac you with it. lol well to the major extent. But yes if they pull you over all info from all states will be on a computer about you. Criminal record ect...

Very interesting, this is what I thought I googled national id and got hardly any information but I still wonder if the magnetic strip can be utilized to tract just in case they want to. I know I sound paranoid but I am a child of the sixties and we were warned that this could happen. I am sure it can happen, just wondering how or when.
