1) I'm black, and neither Quanell X, nor Rev. Al, or Rev. Jesse, or Kanye West for that matter, speak for me (or a lot of others)
2) BRAVO to Mr. Horn for what he did! He, from MY perspective, was defending the property of a neighbor and (BTW, thanks TexasReb for your postings concerning the law for this situation in Texas---spot-on, sir!), unfortunately, the gentlemen who chose to rob the neighbor had just committed a crime---and judging by how I read the law, he was justified in what he did...and this is because---
3) There are folk in this country who are blamed sick and tired of crime and criminals, be they illegal immigrants or your garden-variety thugged-out a**holes...people are starting to fight back, and are sending a message that 'you and your gun don't scare me, Slappy---I've got one too, and I'm not afraid to bust a round in your a**'
Now...you can call me draconian in my thinking, you can call me bloodthirsty, you can even call me Johnson LOL---but the fact remains, whether it's in Texas, or BBKaren's NJ, or even Karfar's Wisconsin, people are fed up, and they're not gonna take it anymore...and Mr. Horn, whether you like him or not, is one of those people...
PS---also, just because a Texan, or anyone else, chooses to bear arms and defend their property, does NOT make that locale the 'wild wild west'...that's being a bit silly and melodramatic, if you ask me
And??? I didn't say I didn't call anyone rednecks, what I SAID was that the original post includes calling someone a yahoo & wacko. So why don't you run along & start yelling at that guy.
Oh lord, why even bother. Again, I will repeat myself for those of you who can't quite grasp what I'm trying to say. As I stated in a previous post, I did NOT deny I called anyone a redneck, but thank you for posting it again, I'm glad to see people can comprehend simple things. And bbkaren, did I ever say in any of my posts that it was unfair as you claim? Nope, don't believe I did, but again thank you for that particular assumption. This has been such a fun thread!

And all I said was had you not come in here calling ALL Texans what you did that just maybe we could have been more understaning of your view on this. But no you just couldn't allow yourself to be nice.

I dont think it's about being nice I think it is about some one being a snob. I am so sick of anyone in the south that has a gun being a redneck or a hick. If you ask me it is you that is the one with the lack of class.

Great post-and I agree. Exercising your constitutional right to bear arms-and following the law as Mr. Horn did- now equates to the wild wild west? I agree both silly and melodramatic. However those opposed to the 2nd ammendment will try anything to weaken it, I guess.

'zackly. That's why we gotta be extra extra careful not to give them ammunition for their argument.
That's all I'm saying. I'm just worried about our liberties being stripped away a bit at a time and cases like this one seem to be (SEEM to be) the sort that they'd use to bolster their case.
In this instance it worked out okay; but what if somehow it had been a mistake and the men ran out of fear...
I just wish the cop had stepped in before it was too late...
