I think we have 12 or so misc. guns. Mostly rifles for hunting, but I know my father wouldn't hesitate for a second to use them to protect his land or family. The guns are kept in 2 large fire proof gun safes in a locked room, while the ammunition (my dad makes his own) is kept in a separate safe across the house. My father, mother, myself, my brother AND sister have all been through the required hunter safety and gun safety courses and know how to handle a gun safely and properly.
We do not fear guns, but fear the uneducated using them.
Like they always say, "America loves its guns". Biggest gun nuts in the world. Got a problem - go for the gun, Having an arguement - go for the gun, Wife nagging you to death - go for the gun.
Its all about guns with you lot over the pond. Can't you settle anything without your piece?
Oh and I almost forgot - when the riots start and you reach for your gun, just remember one thing: The looters will also be armed - protection from YOU.

I learned a long time ago that you can't argue with most Europeans about guns, or much of anything, really. They don't understand most of the reasons we're not trying to be just like them, nor do they want to. I just chuckle and move on to the next post.

Kim Jong-Il needs to be shot. The predators prowling our streets and neighborhoods need to be shot (whether or not they're armed).

I completely agree with you on this point, and I am considering getting a gun, exactly for this purpose (and no other). Already, I consider the police to be the enemy, and the police are the only armed Americans that I am afraid of. I am a law-abiding person, but I have bailed way too many people out of jail who subsequently had all charges dropped.
