Personally I would like to see the government only recognize civil unions. Leave the marriage business to the religious institutions. That's the only way things will be equal.
This is what i had mentioned on another thread. From a legal perspective ONLY recognize civil unions. If a particular church/religion wants to marry only exclusive members - go right ahead. That way they can have their "sanctity"
Seperation of church and state is the only way to go.
Gay marriage isn't a civil rights issue. It's a moral issue. Just like we don't allow brothers and sisters to marry, we shouldn't allow the same sex to marry.

Fact of the matter is.. gay marriage only concerns you if you're gay and want to get married.. gay people marrying has NOTHING to do with your marriage, your family.. or what you think about it. YOU DON"T get to say what someone else wishes to do when it comes to who they want to marry and share a life with.. That is like saying all of your marriages should go up for a vote.. and if your mom doesn't like your fiance.. she can ruin your marriage with her vote!
THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DISAGREEING WITH GAY MARRIAGE AND BEING A BIGOT.. it's how far you take your disagreement...
Please tell me what civil rights for Gays I'm I against.....and while you at it start calling me a California Bigot..There's a great different between a Bigot and a California Bigot...you see we California Bigot "Support" Gay Marriage "It's Called" Domestic Partnership

brothers and sisters are not allowed to marry because of the pitfalls of inbreeding. gays can't multiply!
Before it became a fashion gays had nothing but contempt for marriage. Did you all forget that? Now it's the must have accessory. Are you so sure there is no difference? I see your willing to risk the futures of tomorrows children on this whim. What if your wrong?
You really have no interest in marriage except as today's political goal. If you do get this you will soon loose interest then on to the next thing. Is it really a good idea to change marriage this radically without really knowing the consequences?

Your uninformed opinion is wrong....but you'll rationalize anything to justify your homophobia!

if it's a moral issue than federal government shouldn't have any say in who gets married.
brothers and sisters? you are a sicko! nice example

Here are the consequences: Other than hearing about it in the news, chances are you won't know any same-sex married couples. It only affects you insofar as you allow it to affect your daily thoughts. Relax.

We no longer live in Biblical times where incestuous marriages/relationships were condoned. For example, Abraham married his sister Sarah.

Sterile brothers and sisters wouldn't be allowed to marry , even if the issue and pitfalls of inbreeding was totally taken off the "table'...
