Oh, I agree with you. I just think he's being short sighted. Even though the average guy is not his audience, is it smart to turn them off? IMO, Rush's desire to see a president fail appeals to the GOP base but turns off the independent voters that the republicans desperately need to court.

But don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. First of all I believe in free speech, and second of all this just ends up with more people rooting for Obama. You know, those people who got turned off by Rush. No complaints here.

Funny how liberals are swallowing their tongues at Rush's comment of hoping Obama fails to implement his agenda. Don't I recall 24/7 unrelenting attacks, lies, distortions, and assination movies perpetrated by the left against the previous President? (Yeah, that was soo progressiveeee mannna!)

So now with the next President were supposed to bow down and offer our prayers to him?

If you listen to the soundbite, to what Rush says, you will hear him say, "What he's talking about is the absorbtion of as much of the privage sector by the U.S. government as possible. From the banking business, the mortgage industry, the automobike business to health care. I do not want government in charge of all of these things. I don't want this to work. So I'm thinking if replying to the guys, I'll send you a response, but I don't need 400 words, I need four; I hope he fails."
Clearly, when listened to in CONTEXT, he is talking about the specific socialist agenda that he believes President Obama will pursue here. He did not say he wants to entire Obama presidency to be a failure.
I don't want the government, whether it be with a Republicn or a Democrat in the highest office, in charge of these industries either. If that's what it attempted, then I too hope it fails.
I'll have to find out who asked him for a reply, and exactly what was asked. Does anyone have a link to the previous part of that interview, which CNN left off?

Erm, well, there's a difference. We nutty liberals didn't start "attacking" GWB until after he'd started killing people, including our own men and women, for his own agenda. Until he took a deuce on the Constitution. Until he gave his viewers the finger to let us know what he really thought of us (since the moron didn't realize he was being taped). Until he had bin Laden and literally let him go. Until he put this country absolutely into the toilet.

Obama has been president for about 50 hours so far. Wanna wait to see if he'll sh*t all over the country up one end and down the other like your boy did BEFORE jumping on him? No, you don't? Thought you'd say that.

I love how it's not okay to "attack" someone for committing devastating acts...but it IS okay to "counter"-attack someone who hasn't, because it's "only fair'.

Hmmmmmm.

ETA: I have no clue what that assassination movie is you're talking about. WTH?? Yeah. We libs are all hosting huge parties to secretly watch this...foreign assassination movie.

God. Sad.

You are blaming democrats for a movie made in a foreign country? That movie was not made by Americans, nor was it made by people in the democratic party. And for the record, I was disgusted when I heard about it, and I'm glad it did not play in my city.

In fact, the democratic party soundly spoke out against the movie. Hillary Clinton released this statement: "I think it's despicable. I think it's absolutely outrageous. That anyone would even attempt to profit on such a horrible scenario makes me sick".

People in other countries have also burned Bush in effigy and thrown shoes at him. None of this has anything to do with the democratic party.

President Bush failed in many ways because of people like YOU, yeah, that's right. We were in a time of war against an enemy unlike any other and liberals are doing their damn best to bring down the President. Lies, distortions, BS just like your line about Bush letting Obama go. (That was Clinton by the way.) The attacks were relentless, 24/7, sheer poison spat at Bush. How can any man stand up against that? Liberals who wanted to bring the President down created this mess. By the way, the Dems have been in charge of Congress for 2 years now. So now you want me and people like me to start fawning over Obama like you do? Not a chance.

Actually Normie I seem to recall all sorts of comments from commedians and entertainers about wishing and hoping for such a thing. In a time of war! Unbelievable!

The left spewed poison and hate at a President during war hoping against hope he fails. It was non-stop for 8 years except for a couple days after 9/11. The left created the mess our country is in by psychologically beating down a man who was trying to protect us.

No it wasn't, by the way. Bin Laden did not attack while Clinton was president. Clinton listened to warnings and took steps to protect people before thousands had to die.

Bush heard warnings and did nothing. Literally nothing. Zip. Then let thousands die. Then screamed outrage. Then caused thousands of others to die...by executing orders aimed at just about every soul in the man's country except the man himself. Then allowed bin Laden to go when he (bin Laden) was literally in his reach...AFTER there was a SOLID reason to put the man to task for his crimes.

And then for the following several years: lathered, rinsed, repeated.

You remember comedians publicly saying that they wished Bush would be assassinated? Wow, I don't remember that (but it wouldn't surprise me, there are more than a few shock jocks who go too far). If it happened it was foolish of them. And as a democrat I'd be especially angry with them, not only for being inappropriate but also for driving away voters. I'm sure many people hearing a wish for a president's assassination would be turned off to the point of becoming more inclined to vote republican.
