And people not knowing that they have a choice to breed or not; not having birth control easily available, etc.
It is about education and political ideology, as well.
So everyone who abuses or kills a child is a bully. Not a chance. They can be horribly misguided, have no idea that they have OPTIONS in the area of procreation, be mentally unstable, or a thousand other reasons.
Education is the first step in eradicating problems like this.
How old is this woman? If she is over 15 and has no other children, that would show she does know the concept of birth control. Otherwise she would be a dugger. Or maybe she is retarded....because if you make it to your late teens and have no freaking clue about condoms, depo provera or the myriad of other types of birth control available you would either have to be raised in an LDS type cult (she wasn't) or retarded.
But yes, everyone who abuses a child is a bully. What else do you call a person who deliberately physically attacks someone smaller then themselves, and someone who is in a subordinate position to the abuser? I mean, its not like child abusers are known for picking fights with people their own size, or people at work that could fire them. There is a reason that they beat their children.....they can get away with it. Not because noone had ever told them about birth control or abortions. I know that you have lived outside of the country for awhile, but birth control is advertised in magazines and television. It is a rare thing indeed for someone not to know what birth control is all about. Including abortion.

How horrible. I almost started crying when I read this and saw the girls beautiful face.
How can people do this? Sure, they may get frustrated with the kid but KILL them? How can you kill your child who is telling you that she loves you?

But for whatever the reason, the murderous skank chose not to abort and decided to parent. Why? My personal theory is that bullies like to procreate as it gives them a captive victim to 'vent' on. I think it must be drugs, too....and no church....and I definitely blame the education system (dont want to fight about that though!). If these "kids" had any reason to suffer through school other than to socialize and break up the 24 hours of soaking up advertising and chasing after "fun" - well things would be different that's all. Thinking of Caylee Anthony's "mother" here too.
this is awful. it does make my eyes water. to imagine a defenseless child pleading with their parent the only way they know how.

Church or no church has nothing to do with it. Those who claim religion are just as likely to do harm - too many cases of "they seemed like fine, upstanding" yadda or Priests preying on youth to think it makes a difference.

I don't go to church and certainly don't believe in Jesus, yet I don't, haven't and won't beat my kids.
There are some people for whom instant gratification is what their life is all about --- and what could gratify their bad mood better then being able to beat their child? I'm sure this ***** felt oh so much better as her child laid dying. But religion? I've known people to use religion as an excuse for horrible behavior.
They said there will be no death penalty. I wonder why!
Because to get the death penalty in Texas, you have to prove that the killing was intentional and the prosecution didn't feel they could prove that.
