Since we Americans have short memories, very, very short, 4 years from now, if obama isn't re-elected, and if things continue to worsen, they'll be blaming obama for a even bigger mess?

But when only 3 Republican members of Congress support a bill - whi is nearly 100% rejection of a bill -which is nearly 100% improbable unless that party is being 100% partisan...

So 'on this issue' - the recession and the stimulus bill as a partial solution to it - the Republicans are doing absolutely nothing to help fix a problem that they share the majority (not all - the majority) of blame for....

It is very hard to think bi-partisan when one party is being almost completely partisan about such a serious problem that needs fixing .

You are worthless. You went from "the republicans fault" to "republicans caused a majority of"

And you keep pointing to 3 repubs that did vote for it. How many Dems didnt vote for it?

They aren't comparing it to the 1990 or 2001 recession, so no idea why you posted that graph...

Unfortunately, this seems all too clear as the GOP seems to want Obama to fail - at any cost to the American people. Have you all forgotten that when Bush wanted his $350 Billion, he easily got it with little wrangling from the Dems! I think it's hard to argue that Obama DID try to inject some non-partisanship into the debate and include Republicans and their views. But their wall of opposition quickly went up and now we're back to the 'win at any cost' attitude.

I am continually appalled at the 'Stop Obama at any Cost' kind of rhetoric as evidenced in these 'Newsmax' e-mails, which I continue to get - thought I'd unsubscribed but now I view them as a window into the Republican's viral obstructionist approach (party before country). It's the famous fear factor being used once again!
Instead of presenting alternative solutiions, in another e-mail they rail against the stimulus package "Your Money for Illegals, Welfare Recipients, Arts, and Sex".
Another sampling below (sorry no link available):

"An urgent message from our Newsmax Sponsor, the Republican National Lawyers Association
Obama's Stimulus Can Be Defeated.
You Need to Act Now to Make It Happen.
American Democracy Depends on It.

Urgent Message from Dick Morris
Dear Friends:
President Obama, House Spoker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid are close to suffering their first defeat in Congress.
With you help, Obama's massive pork-barrel, socialist, wealth-distribution program billed as a "stimulus" plan can be stopped. Obama promised to be nonpartisan. But he's been anything but.
We now know the stimulus program includes billions in new cars for bureaucrats, Hollywood movie makers, arts programs, anti-smoking campaigns, efforts to reduce sexually trasmitted diseases, and a litany of programs totally unrelated to the economy. Obama promised massive infrastructure programs to create new jobs. But get this: Less than 5% of the $800 billion plus program goes for such programs.
What a joke."

How can this intransigent, racially divisive attitude help our country in this times of crisis?

They have clearly shown that they won't lift a finger to help fix this economic disaster that THEY CREATED - with a big boost from their Fearless Leader - DUBYA.
I think that some of the GOP got the message-that uncontrolled expansion of government spending is not acceptable to much of the electorate. Hence the election of the Dems in '06 and '08. 'Bama is continuing the failed policies that you decry so much...why are they now such a good thing??? I'd like to think that the Repub party got the message...maybe too much to hope for. Mcain's biggest screwup was voting for the same bailout plan that BO did last fall...makes it hard to differentiate between them. On the other hand, if the Repubs didn't "get it" (and it's obvious the Dems didn't) maybe a viable 3rd party will develop by '12, which would really be better all the way around.

Well, maybe, maybe not.

You see, according to RW whackaloons, all of the economic trouble through the end of last year was Clinton's fault. They may not catch up to Obama if only given four years.

So you can prove it wont go to illegals, actors, welfare recipients and STD programs?

And you can prove it has more than 5% infrastructure when all along that was what he was promoting?
