Typos happen but either way the Atlantic is one of the oldest magazines in America (founded 1857) and it is highly respected on both sides of the aisle. It isn't a partisan news source at all.

I would think Obama should be aware what the people he is supposedly representing think....

Unless he simply doesn't care.

You must have a really big book club if 20,000 show up....

The OP in this thread is so dead on. It's been a top down astroturf attempt by the GOP from the start. One that has been a dismal failure since only 26,000 people in a nation of 300 million even bothered to show up for. We get larger crowds for local political events here in just this city.

Way too long and now is because things are getting worse....what was the federal budget this year???

Explain how we could pay for the military without taxes...One conservative "claimed" that Obama is cutting the military budget (which he isn't) but doesn't want to pay taxes..[/quote]
It isn't an either/or situation....I know this may sound horrible to you but the fedgov. is too big and too expensive,it needs to be reduced as we cannot afford to pay for it anymore.

The military could quite easily be reduced IF we weren't out policing the world.

It was unpatriotic and un-American to protest under Bush, you could have been jailed for that, or worse, sent to gitmo as a terra suspect.

Ah tea parties...where the 90% of the people who pay 10% of the tax come out to protest. Where were the 10% that pay 90% of the taxes? Oh right...they were in their offices working.
