Don't trivialize anti-smoking sentiment to one "small-minded person with serious control issues". Anti-smoking sentiments are worldwide and a profound majority of people object to smoking.

I'm not at all afraid that banning smoking in all public places is going to open a Pandora's Box of legislation stripping Americans of our rights. That's nonsense.

$7 a Pack just got me thinking if I still smoked it would cost me $600 a month. This isn't counting the Drinking and Drugs I did.

Truth I don't have a problem with people smoking I use to Love it.But I didn't think it would bother me and I told my Son it was ok to smoke in my House.I couldn't handle it.

The real victims in this tiresome debate are the non-smokers who are fighting like hell for our rights to breathe cigarette-smoke free air when we are in public places.

Now put THAT in your pipe and smoke it!
Hmmm....listen to yourself "they engage in risky behavior that degrades their health and quality of life".For someone who says they aren't about nannying it sure sounds like nannying to me.You are deciding for others what their quality of life should be and all for legislating it.Then you go on to say the act of smoking deserves to be demonized, where does that stop?Where does defining for others what should make them happy stop?

And yes I have no problem staying away from you when I smoke that is courtesy but look what some others have posted, now someone just smelling of cigarette is bothersome to them to the point they want to ban it for that. When I'm walking down a sidewalk smoking a cig and someone starts complaining about it when they are on the other side of the street that is just becoming too ridiculous but now that we have just about banned it in most public buildinngs that is where they are pushing next.

Logical fallacy: slippery slope.

It's only a matter of time before smoking is only legal in your home and car.

For the smokers here who say cigarettes aren't "drugs" and smoking isn't an addiction, think again. Nicotine is one of the most addictive substances known to man.

For the smokers here who say that non-smokers should shut up, I say we will shut up when you stop lighting up around us. Smoking is the only drug out there that can pervade innocent bystander's bodies. Crack can't do that. Alcohol can't do that. Heroin can't do that. Speed can't do that. Etc. etc. The fact is, if you smoke in my presence, then I'm forced to breathe in YOUR DRUG. And that pisses me off.

So watch out smokers. The day WILL come when you will be banned of your "right" to smoke in ALL public areas. And until that time, we non-smokers will continue to be as in your face about your nasty addiction as your cigarette smoke is in our faces.
Amen!

someday maybe I'll be living underground like this, but thinking like this.....

So it has become about who can be nastier than whom. Really balanced and mature.

As I mentioned before, the internet is a good bodyguard. Try actually getting in my face sometime. The real face. No way you're going to ever get in my intellectual, logical face.
