People who fly the Confederate flag are trying to show the rest of us what bad @sses they are. If they were less insecure they would have to overcompensate.
Not necessarily - but some do get tired of "open-minded," judgemental people that tell them what they should do while also arguing that it should be no big deal to burn the American flag because it's just a piece of cloth. As to the OP, no, I don't own one.
I'm a long-time southern girl. The flag is part of our heritage and history.
This very modern concept of erasing any American history that's not buttoned up and beautiful is a bizarre notion to me. The South seceded from the Union and it resulted in a bloody war and we (the South) paid dearly for many decades. Like it or not, that flag is part of our heritage and our past.
And I proudly stand by your right to fly it, and readily admit that just because you do so, does not make you a racist.
I would wager that the majority of people who have a problem with that flag are northern liberal elitests who are just looking for something to whine about and make them feel "superior"....
I wonder, are there any black southern groups making a fuss about this flag? After all, you'd think they'd be the first to complain, but I'm not hearing it.
The US flag represents ALL that is American good and bad.
The Confederate flag primarily represents the dissolution of a democracy in the aftermath of the free and fair 1860 election so that the evil institution of slavery could be preserved.
The same Sherman that said, "All the congresses on earth can’t make the negro anything else than what he is; he must be subject to the white man?” Interesting. I would have guessed your stance was about racism and slavery.
if you flew a confederate flag in this town, you would get hurt, serious, its fighting words here. if you have a confederate license plate on your truck, you will get a ticket. but its only one sided. There is not a single white boy around here that think that flags has anything do with slavery, that just in the minds of the black population
the flag around here, is hank jr, days at the river, lyndnll skyner. duke of hazard. its just red neck having fun, football, motorcycle, atvs. mud holes, 4wds
i guess the black population just feel left out. but their welcome to join in

I do not fly the confederate flag.
It actually represented the belief that the Constitution was an at will contract, something many other states of the union had demonstrated to be their belief through their plans of secession prior to that.
