Court rejects challenge to 'don't ask, don't tell'

Quote:
WASHINGTON (AP) - The Supreme Court on Monday turned down a challenge to the Pentagon policy forbidding gays and lesbians from serving openly in the military, granting a request by the Obama administration.

In court papers, the administration said the appeals court ruled correctly in this case when it found that "don't ask, don't tell" is "rationally related to the government's legitimate interest in military discipline and cohesion."

During last year's campaign, President Barack Obama indicated he supported the eventual repeal of the policy, but he has made no specific move to do so since taking office in January. Meanwhile, the White House has said it won't stop gays and lesbians from being dismissed from the military.
Hmmm. I think the homosexual community might be coming to the conclusion that obama might not be the friend they thought he was. Candidate obama is so much different than Prez. obama.

This must be very disappointing to them.

This is great news! Gays should be very happy since they are always demanding people stay out of their bedroom.

With the economy in the crapper, I personally could give a damn about homosexual rights and privileges. When banks are not owned by taxpayers, automakers are making private-industry cars again, and unemployment is at typical levels, THEN AND ONLY then should Obama give credence to the homosexual agenda. It's time for gays to get over themselves and quit crying about every perceived injustice. The Supreme Court and Obama did the right thing.

No shock ... I think alot of different groups are realizing he isnt the man they thought he was.

I think it should be a military decision, not a political decision anyway. Supreme Court justices are just politicians dressed in robes anymore anyhow.

Democrats will arrogantly ASSume liberals will just "suck it up" and keep voting for them. It doesn't take much to demotivate liberals into not showing up to the polls, and they're intelligent enough to ignore the moronic "a Democrat staying at home is the same as voting Republican"

All the homos I saw voting for Obama made me laugh. If people would have found a way to vote in Ron Paul maybe things would have gone better. Democrats are well named, because many are like rats in their actions. Republicans are mostly sheep, with some crooks and a few libertarians who get little attention.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I have been saying all along that the Weekend Liberals that put Obama into office will be nowhere to be found at the 2010 mid-terms. If its not black or gay, it gets nary a bit of attention with liberals. 2010 mid-terms will exemplify this and Democrats will pay dearly for it.

The same can be said about Republicans taking Conservative voters for granted.. The Two parties have become extremely arrogant and don't seem to answer to the people, only the lobbyists..

Regarding the decision, I find it funny that the U.S. Supreme Court voted a few weeks back to allow Illegal Aliens the right to use a fake SSN but aren't going to allow gay U.S. Citizens to serve openly in the military..

I agree with the "Dont ask, Dont tell" thing. Reagan was right on this, and President Obama is right as well.
