Florida were I have lived most of my life is actually diverse.Miami which I finally left 2 years ago is mostly hispanic now.Central Fla has deep southern voiced country types so does the panhandle.Orlando is mixed white,Puerto Rican and black.Central west coast where I am seems to have a little bit of everybody.

But this town is a small section of Ft Myers where this guy is,and down there tends to be alot of retirees also.Overall Fla is a decent place to live and doesn't have car taxes and state taxes and tax tax tax like most other states although the median income is lower compared to places like New England. If you polled people in Ft Myers a large percentage probably would care less that his wife does X flicks.

I think the question that should be asked is, "What if any laws were violated". If the answer is none, then he shouldn't loose his job! JMO

I was quoting dcsldcd, you can see how I'd get confused. A Rep is a representative, not a Republican. I am a Republican (Navy vet, strong opponent to massive government spending), so I was only saying that he was a Representative, hence the "there are plenty of Reps with skeletons in their closets" meaning REPRESENTATIVES not Republicans. Learn to read the context, it'll help you in the future.

I to am a republican and have always seen "rep" as short for republican but hey whatever.

What? Now you can tell me who I can marry if I want to work in gov't?
They haven't broken any laws from what I can tell.

If distraction was the problem, would they fire him if he married Carrie Prejean? She's a distraction with all the media attention she's been getting.

And from what I saw, the reason I saw for the firing was distraction. Nothing else... being an example for instance.

And the right worries about Democrats taking away freedoms. It's crap like this that makes me less sympathetic to conservative's opinions.

Who's pushing morals upon whom here?

Look, you may not think that what she does is moral... but apparently they don't agree with you and they aren't breaking the law.

I did not say what she does is moral, personally I don't agree with it nor is it something I would ever do or want my children to do BUT it is not illegal and they do NOT have that right to fire him for what his wife does.

Except it's in his contract he can be fired by majority vote of the town council. It's in the OP link.
