At their age, whatever the government dictates is going to affect their lives personally so they should have the right to vote.
I have seen many politicians who are running for election act with less "brainpower" than an 18 year old.
If 18 year olds are old enough to die for their country, they are old enough to vote.
Are they really dying for THIS country or for somebody else's country? More death does not always equal freedom.Vietnam? And more war does not always equal true "conservatism". but this is beside the point of this poll and question.
Are people mature and wise enough to vote when they are 18 years old?

I think the 18 year-olds who are mature enough to pay attention to politics are the ones who vote. Those who don't care and don't follow politics won't. Figures indicate that young folks turn out in relatively small proportions on voting day.

Considering that I was around that age the first time I voted & I voted for Bush, Sr. strictly based on my fathers opinion, I would say no, LOL. However, if you graduate from high school, can go into the military, college, start a job or a business, then yes they are old enough.
