so don't be afraid to let them show
your true colors
yeah I did hear that part and I thought "I wasn't aware that MLK was a prophet" but I didn't bring it up since it wasnt really the subject at hand and I didn't want to be accused of deflecting
Why doesn't the President come out a squash this stuff himself? You know that he knows about it! Tell these folks that it's out of line!
I think praying FOR a president is ok. I think praying TO a president is kind of strange. Really? What do you expect Obama to say about it? If he's too busy to campaign for the Olympics he's too busy to address everyone out there who does something out of the ordinary. It is no one else's business how they pray.
Did you know about this meeting before today? How do you know that President Obama knows about it?
And why on earth should the President of the United States inject himself into how people worship or pray or chant or whatever else they want to do? Did you forget about the separation clause in the constitution?
I pray every night -- fervently -- that Obama leaves me some spending money when he raises taxes after the 2010 elections.
O please Mr. President Can't you see That if you take my money I won't be free
I know you've got reasons to do what you do but I work too hard to get it to give it all to you
So listen to me Sir And heed my prayer I don't want to lose my money Along with all my hair
Looks like somebody has not been reading their bible. Last time I checked greed was one of the seven deadly sins. Yet you pray for your "money"? WOW How about praying for the hungry, sick and poor? That was what Christ taught. You are your brothers keeper.
"If someone slaps you on the cheek, let him slap the other too! If someone demands your coat, give him your shirt besides. Give what you have to anyone who asks you for it; and when things are taken away from you, don't worry about getting them back." Luke 6:29
Then there is the lesson of the poor widow who gave her last pennies to help the poor while the rich gave little of their wealth.
He called up his disciples to him and remarked, That poor widow has given more than all those rich men put together! For they gave a little of their extra fat, while she gave up her last penny." Mark12:43,44
Then of course Christ said it is nearly impossible for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. "Then Jesus said to his disciples, "It is almost impossible for a rich man to get into the Kingdom of Heaven. I say it again-it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God!" Math19:23-24
I post these bible quotes not because I'm a bible thumper but because they were Christ's basic teachings. No where did Christ say you were to worry about your money or god forbid pray for your money. If anything Christ said to give your money away and be happy that you did.
