Women dress like men all the time with no problem. It is more comfortable and practical. I don't understand why a man would want to dress as a female, but women certainly have a lot more options and can dress flamboyantly if they choose and still feel accepted.

I can see college as preparing students for the outside world of work, but the campus is not only that. It is a home.

If a person wished to cross dress or wear those horrid droopy pants to some social function off campus, with these regulations he would have to bag them and put them on when he left school property.

There should at least be a bit of wiggle room left here, I think.

Usually not at institutions in which you PAY to recieve a service. And if so, only at a capacity that serves health and safety standards.

As far as I understand, private schools are more stringent towards rules than public schools. They are also very good to do random drug screen and kick bad kids out.

The guys can always go somewhere else with their money.
I know I would.

I just don't see why the school felt the need to do make it a policy. There's enough homophobia on the campus without institutionalizing it.

The President of the school will be giving a speech tomorrow in the city next to me and I'll definitely be asking about this policy if given the chance to ask.

Honestly, they usually have the same standards as public schools. "Very good to do random drug screen and kick bad kids out"...that's actually pretty bad.

Easier said than done in today's world...

Not to mention impeding on freedom of expression.

Cool.

I'm sure the students could attend a cheaper institution that offered them just as good an education and they don't have to worry about being told how to dress.

Georgia has a lot of colleges.

Going to an all-male school probably caused them to crack, hence the cross dressing. I couldn't take going to a school that was a giant sausage fest.

It's not so much that is it is the trying to coordinate education. Also, university specific scholarships don't carry over. Transfer students do have lower rates of obtaining university specific scholarships.

It's really difficult to transfer. I had to do at LEAST 3 months prep to find what classes I needed to transfer units from within the same university system. This was only for a quarter...4 classes.

Private School; what's the issue here? Interesting that many leftists have ignored this thread, doubt that would be the case if this were a Christian school and not an HBCU.
