I think you kinda hit the nail on the head. generally speaking, the Jewish community took things into their own hands and ran thier own businesses. That is where power comes from. The percentage of black owned businesses is low.
When the government continues to give handouts to the poor (blacks make up a large segment), what does human nature tell you will happen? Now not you or me because we are fine upstanding citizens who will always use that jump start to bigger and better things. When you are raised to rely on others is becomes habit. Human nature tells us the way to betterment is through self betterment first.
